Tschugger is the best Swiss TV show that I have ever seen. Which might also be due to the fact that I have never seen any other Swiss shows before.
But seriously, it's a very good show.
A lovely mix of crime and comedy, shot and edited in a unique manner. It's not very complicated or deep, but it is a lot of fun.
The actors are all very good and there are some really great characters in this show. My personal favourite is "Smetterling" the nerdy police apprentice.
"Tschugger" is at it's best, whent it makes fun of itself and the characters, which is most of the time. The more serious parts can be a bit cliché, but it is definitely a show worth watching in my opinion.
The story is finished after season two, the episodes are about 25 minutes in length. I wouldn't mind seeing more from the creators of this show, I will definitely keep an eye out.

After a long time back and forth, I (a Swiss) let myself be persuaded for the first time to watch a Swiss series production. Still a bit skeptical, I started the first episode and had to admit after 2 minutes that this series is terrific.
I haven't seen the season finale yet, but I'm convinced that it won't disappoint me.

First of all: I don't know the director, the producers, the actors. But this is crazy stuff with a lot of inside-jokes. May the best series that was filmed and produced in switzerland. I am sure there will be a netflix or whatever us-remake. Better than fargo.
This series is fast-paced and incredibly funny. It takes a lot for me to find something really funny. In addition, of course, there is the Valais dialect, which gives the series additional charm. And yes, the subtitles are sometimes necessary, because it's all very fast and those who aren't really used to the Valais German will have trouble. I never would have thought that Switzerland could pull off such a series. You can hardly breathe, it's so packed and the story with all its surprises is super coherent, sometimes morbid, macabre, but hilarious and it doesn't get boring for a second. Maybe the series will be dubbed into other languages (German!), although of course something will be lost then, the Valais language is such a hit. The actors are simply stunning, top performance! Hey Switzerland: Great job!
Oh wow, the Swiss CAN be funny!
I was intrigued by this series being described to me as "The Swiss version of Brooklyn 99" but I must say, this is even better. Very well written, with a mix of comedy, suspence, just enough gore to make it interesting, and some sweets moments too. I love that it is set in a very small, very local part of Switzerland (the canton Valais) and it has many silly inside jokes that the Swiss will get but will make other viewers laugh, too.
I love the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously while simultaneously providing top quality entertainment.
The language is so local that even German-speaking people will need subtitles, but in exchange you will learn some amazing new idioms that you can use to impress your friends!
The retro feeling of the titles is so cool, and the theme tune is extra catchy!
Kudos to the amazing David Constantin who wrote, directed and starred in it.
