One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga

In his last public appearance, Tony Bennett, just two years before his passing, was suffering the advancing effects of dementia. The disease caused him difficulty to even remember significant people in his life, including Lady Gaga who had spent many hours practicing with him. But when the stage lights went on, the music played, and he stepped onto the stage, Tony's brilliance shone like the star that he is, and his decades of professionalism took over, mesmerizing the ecstatic crowd. The music flowed from him as if time had stopped 60 years earlier. Then, Lady Gaga stepping out onto the stage and into the lights wearing a dazzling gold dress, called out to him, "Hey Tony!" Tony excitedly turned toward her, announcing for the audience, "Whoa! Lady Gaga!" nearly bringing her to tears.
