Authentically written and directed by Edward Crawford, 60 Miles North is an inspiring film sure to tug at the heartstrings. There have been many movies made about broken dreams, and there have been many movies made about struggles with debilitating illnesses. Crawford brilliantly combines an actor's struggle with people believing in his dream with a young woman's struggle with people believing in her illness. Whether it be a strange illness or an impossible dream, people will always tell you "its all in your head," which is such a great metaphor. Together the two characters believe in each other. Such a moving journey and a great film with funny, sharp dialogue and great performances. Especially Crawford himself. Highly recommend.
I already had a very strong feeling I'd be impressed, yet found myself pleasantly surprised by the overall talent throughout the entire production. Very relatable characters, a really beautiful story within the story of friendship and loyalty between people who just understand what it means to be dismissed by those who should believe in them more than anyone else does. The bigger picture of how we should be spending our brief time here on this planet is painted so boldly, and beautifully, that it brings a tear to the eye. Not just an entertaining and impressive piece of work, 60 Miles North is a life lesson before our eyes, souls, and minds.
60 Miles North is a wonderful, surprisingly human story. Clarence (Edward Crawford), the main character, is driven by the trauma and scars of the "human experience." He brings forth real-life grit to the big screen. We learn from him that life is hard, but if you decide to learn from those hard times, happiness is just beyond your fingertips. You will reach it, and when you do you grab for that happiness. In doing so you learn life is a blessing in disguise. This film is well written and directed as well. The locations were well thought out throughout this film. I'm glad I stumbled upon this gem of a story.
I'm not a frequent reviewer, of movies, books, or restaurants. In fact this is my first on IMDb, so bear with me!
Living just a few miles from where some of the scenes were filmed made my wife and I anxious to watch it. We were hoping that it would at least be good... and it far exceeded our expectations!
Although the only star we recognized was Jack MulCahy, the lesser known cast was outstanding... great acting, cinematography, and story line! As a photo enthusiast, I thought that the camera work was terrific... depth of field, aerial shots, etc.
The scene about the cell phone had us rolling. (Not going to spoil by saying anything more... but it was hilarious!)
The fact that this movie is based on true life experiences was a plus. Not sure what could have made it better... but I felt a little funny giving my first review with a 10.

This was a well put together movie. It's real life and shows how different people handle the same situations. I feel that everyone played their roll well and it all came together. There were a lot of great one liners that had me laughing. It came across as real people, not actors trying to be perfect. I can't say enough about there scenery and beautiful upstate NY. The ending was bittersweet as I was wanting to see more of this developing story. I hope to see more movies from Edward Crawford in the near future. Sign this man to a mega million dollar contract now! Don't miss out on him while he's hot or you'll be sorry!
