Just as Richard seemingly had Johan cornered, Johan showed up to his door. Johan carefully talked Richard into reliving his sin and his lie. Richard drank himself to death with a bottle of whiskey just because of words. Johan turned Richard&#39;s newfound happiness into guilt. Johan is a perfect villain.

This episode of Monster, is the ending to a &quot;slow burn&quot; arc of sorts. And MAN what an Unbelievably chilling ending it is. Johan not even a 4th of the way through the show, establishes himself as one of the greatest villains in anime history.

After this ending, it&#39;s hard not to be shocked if you&#39;re watching it for the first time. First the show makes you like Richard Braun, and then you see him being defeated like this. We will certainly see more of the villain from this episode. Apparently, they will start looking for the culprit, or maybe they will be confused by the detective&#39;s suicide, and Johan will get rid of the authorities once again. Really, it&#39;s as if the villain ndid not exist. He remained calm even when he was cornered by Braun, he tried to lie more. He did not succeed. He had to use a character&#39;s trauma to make him murder himself. What an incredible villain build!

&#39;&#39;Well.. Richard will you have a drink&#39;&#39; Talk about an episode??? This episode deserve it&#39;s spot to be wayy higher dude this guy johan doesn&#39;t mess around we follow him going through a side quest when a detective is suddenly after him trying to solve all of his cases and johan just goes by and goes clean and disappears just like that like a ghost. It&#39;s genuinely haunting as a viewer watching this episode GOAT TV show.

Just amazing the buildup to finally see johan and everything that he does in this arc is planned everything lined up everything that Johan Liebert did came to this point this is one of the best episodes in TV I&#39;ve ever seen this is your sign to give this show a watch I had to make a review just for this episode.

The buildup to Richard&#39;s demise is incredibly tense, and the key twist about his past is delivered so casually that it hits like a dang truck. This episode also starts connecting more pieces of Johan&#39;s story, and every scene feels purposeful and unsettling. One of the standout episodes of the series so far.
