Heavy Is the Crown

This show has set an all time new bar for animation, extremely impressive. The music choices are also always phenomenal and appropriate. The story telling continues to be top tier, and I'd go as far to say as this is a masterpiece of its own right. Emotional, dramatic, and a perfect foundation for the rest of the season.

I know some people have said they didn't like the 'music video' aspect of it (which was only for a few scenes), but I personally love that. It's wonderful artistry and creativity, and I love how this show uses multiple formats to tell its story. Very creative with alternating art forms too. 10/10.

Arcane Season 2 opens with a stunning return to form, delivering a first episode that builds on the emotional and narrative weight of Season 1 while pushing the story and characters into intriguing new territory. From the outset, the animation quality once again stands out as exceptional, with every scene bursting with a painterly richness that makes Piltover and Zaun feel as immersive and vibrant as ever. Riot Games and Fortiche Production clearly doubled down on visual fidelity, with character designs and backgrounds that feel even more intricate and refined.

Episode 1 carefully balances familiar faces with new dynamics, and one of its strengths lies in how it reintroduces characters like Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn. Their relationships, complicated by past events, continue to evolve in complex and unpredictable ways, ensuring that the emotional depth is every bit as gripping as the show's high-stakes action scenes. We also get glimpses of new political conflicts within Piltover's upper echelons and the emerging chaos within Zaun, both of which set the stage for an even darker and more intricate storyline.

The pacing is solid, blending world-building with moments of suspense and introspection that capture the tension between these two clashing cities. The episode also teases some promising new plot threads and characters, hinting at potential alliances and rivalries that could alter the balance of power between Piltover and Zaun in unexpected ways.

Overall, the first episode of Arcane Season 2 is a masterful blend of breathtaking visuals, nuanced storytelling, and complex character work. Season 1 was incredible, but they have upped the production value (somehow) for season 2. I am literally blown away after this first episode. It certainly starts out with an incredibly somber mood, but by the end you will realize that war is here. It's hard to even find the words to describe just how impressive it is that they have managed to improve on what they did in season 1. The lighthearted tone barely makes an appearance in this first episode. It feels more like a movie than the first season. I am beyond impressed. It's my favorite piece of media and I've been consuming the stuff for 40 years. Hats off to everyone involved in this MASTERPIECE. 10/10.

It's unbelievable how the team behind this series managed to create something so beautiful, even more stunning than the first season. Visually speaking it is a gem of animation, with breathtaking backgrounds and outstanding animation. The characters lead the way, already established in season 1 here they shine as never before. The story holds your breath with a relentless pace that leaves no rest. As if that were not enough, the soundtrack is also at indescribable levels, with astonishing sequences where music and art come together to create wonder.

Just from the new intro I knew this was going to be a magnificent series, and arc 4 does not disappoint at all.
