I am not the target audience for this movie. I knew it going in, but within the first few minutes, I was utterly annoyed with every single character that was introduced. These social media/streaming personalities that yell at the screen or are constantly filming their lives; I just don't get it. Doesn't appeal to me one bit. So I really struggled to get past my dislike of the entire cast, especially Chad. But once the film got going, I actually looked forward to seeing each one get "the axe" and this was really the only part of the film that I enjoyed.
The dialogue was absolutely insufferable, the acting ability was all over the place (the two main guys; good, the couple; awful actors in every possible way), and it takes a while for anything worthwhile to actually happen. Then, when things finally start ramping up, were left with some of the most tame "killings" and death scenes imaginable. No blood, no gore, no real violence. There is no horror in this film. There are a bunch of weird jump scares and weak attempts at being frightening, but overall this had got to be one of the most unlikable films I've ever seen.
That being said, I did enjoy the location of the film and where it all took place. The abandoned house was creepy, it looked really authentic and really added to the whole t creepy and eerie vibe the film was going for.
Honestly, If you're older than 13 you're not going to enjoy this movie. I tried, I honestly did, but I just did not like anything about it as a grown man.
