I've never seen this series so I cannot write an accurate/honest review on the show, nor could I assess the quality of any aspects of it. This being said though what I found 'revealing' (pun sorta intended) is that right in the description/short bio for Ana Alexander (lead actress of the show) it says, and I quote, "(Ana) Quit working on the series Chemistry (2011) right after the first season due to the excessive nudity that was required for her character." Source: IMDB. I'm doubting the real reason was all the nudity as I'd be willing to bet she was quite aware she'd be nude most of the show. She probably just couldn't believe she had to be constantly naked AND the show was terrible. The only other thing I can say is I found this show while looking at projects directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith, the director of a movie called 'Pimpin' Pee Wee', which I GUESS is some continuation of the 'Porky's' franchise. Obviously this guy helps make quality stuff.
Good erotic tv mini series. Can't believe the rating is below 6. You have seen hot Caucasian and exotic women, you have seen their bodies, you have seen their bosoms, what else do you expect from them? The plot is dull, but that is not the point. Seeing Michael the main character embarking on a sexual journey with different women is the point. The show is created to gratify sexual arousal and for this, it's an awesome show. If you think it's a bad show, feel free to stop watching it. If you think you can do better, you can make a homemade video for us. Some IMDb users, really need to use their brains to think carefully before rating.
This is the latest Skinemax addition to its Friday late night adult fest. It deals with a guy and his on going affair and how it develops into another relationship. It's nothing out of the ordinary in terms of this genre. There's a good amount of eye candy, nudity, and sex, but that's where the positives ends. The acting is dreadful (not that you expect Oscar worthy performances). The show looks and feels dated from the cheesy opening credits, to the horrible and obvious green screens during the driving sequences. Chemistry feels like a combination of a bad 80's soap opera and an 80's infomercial combined. The cut scenes are pointless and Liz and her partners' cop scenes are after school special bad. I'm sure you can appreciate it more if you're 12, (for obvious reasons) but if you're an adult and haven't watched Chemistry, you haven't missed anything.
Chemistry is a super-feel-good drama about the relationship between a man navigating a complicated personal and professional life, and the attractive manic pixie dream cop who rescues him from a car wreck using mouth to mouth. Lots of sex and nakedness ensue.
One of Cinemax's last attempts at original scripted programming for the After Dark segment, this is last-decade-era late night adult-oriented cable TV schlock and it makes no pretense of being otherwise. The soap opera-like plot developments are silly and none of the characters behave realistically, but everyone is likeable and, while this isn't a straight up comedy, there's a healthy level of self-awareness present - often conveyed in direct fourth wall breaking - and a sense that everyone's doing their earnest best to tell a story with heart and entertain and engage the viewer, even the buddy character with the annoyingly bad fake English accent.
Ana Alexander is a sight and her on-screen chemistry with Jonathan Chase is legit - they're both extremely easy to look at, especially together. It's unfortunate (if completely understandable from a career development standpoint) that she walked away from the series after one season, however, as it seemed like there was still a good bit of story left to tell. To fans of this particular kind of programming it's even more disappointing that she left the genre altogether, but that just makes her work in this series that much more special.
