Useless less budgeted, No effort in writing, No effort in direction, Kiddish dialogues, extra long scenes, boring music and overacting x100. Guysss please do watch anything but not this. Specially in first half, prefer watching reels instead. Disappointed I went in with decent expectations - the title sounded interesting, and I thought maybe this would be a decent horror-thriller with a fresh storyline. But within the first 20 minutes, I could already feel that something was off. The film just drags. It tries to build suspense, but instead of feeling tense or intrigued, I felt bored and disconnected.
. There's no real depth in the story, and everything feels too surface-level. The so-called mystery or horror elements are predictable, and if you've seen even a couple of decent thrillers, you'll guess most of the plot twists before they even happen. It's not that every film needs to shock the audience, but at least keep us engaged - this one failed at that.
Scenes feel stretched unnecessarily, dialogues are dull, and there's a lot of "build-up" that leads nowhere. It feels like the movie keeps promising that something big or scary is about to happen - but that moment never truly arrives. It just keeps dragging you through the mud.
I didn't feel emotionally connected to any of them. Nikita Roy's character could've been so much more powerful and layered, but she's written so flatly that even her struggles don't evoke empathy. I kept waiting for her character to grow, or at least show some spark - but it never happens. The side characters feel like they were added just to fill space.
Which I was hoping would at least make up for the weak story, is average at best. The lighting, angles, and visuals lack creativity, and the "darkness" element in the title hardly translates into anything visually gripping. The **background music** too was underwhelming. In horror or thriller films, music plays such a huge role in setting the mood - but here, it didn't really enhance any scene. In fact, it made some scenes feel even flatter.
By the time the film reached its climax, I was just hoping it would end soon. And when it did, it didn't leave me with anything to remember - no moment that stuck with me, no performance that stood out, nothing. It's one of those films where you walk out of the theatre (or finish it online) and forget it within an hour.
I'm not trying to be harsh, but as a viewer, you expect at least some return on your time and attention. This film honestly felt like a missed opportunity. There was a good concept somewhere underneath, but it got buried under poor execution, bad pacing, and weak writing.
Watch it only if you have absolutely nothing else to do...

Don't go with the 10-star reviews.
Either they are paid, or they don't know anything about movies.
Nikita Roy had a good concept. Acting was good too from all the lead except a few over-acted scenes from Sonakshi.
Somewhere it all boiled down to the direction. Abrupt scene endings. No character development. The horror was just superfluous. That killed the movie. They could have focussed so much on the cult, but all the spotlight was on Sonakshi, considering the director is her brother. She did act well but in a movie like these, there is so much to play with. It could have developed it into much more as it had all the elements of horror and thriller. But it fails.

Nikita roy is such a fantastic movie which horror suspense fans will love most We should appreciate films like this. Now coming back to review nice performance by actors🌟, nice cinematography🌟, nice storyline🌟 and most likely nice sound effects🌟 and one more star for the climax🌟 it's just not a horror movie but also the philosophy behind it is interesting. I appreciate the work of whole team specially sonakshi and paresh rawal jii and as I became the fan of sound effects, Not a single time movie feels boring. A must watch film and also you can enjoy it how much time you want. I also think if I would have saw this on big screens and recommendit too. I recommend you to watch this world class quality film and enjoy.also big appreciation to kush sinha As director.
Nikita Roy arrives with the promise of a compelling concept, dipping into themes that had the potential to grip and intrigue. At its core, the film hints at a story that could have left a lasting impact but somewhere along the journey, the execution loses its sharpness.
Visually, there are glimpses of brilliance, a few well-composed frames and moments that momentarily hold your attention. But the screenplay falters, often becoming too linear and predictable, softening the thrill that the genre demands.
One major misstep lies in the opening credits; showing the cast and crew images upfront unintentionally spoils the suspense, unraveling what could have been a powerful reveal later in the story.
While it might serve as a casual one-time watch, it doesn't quite make a strong case for the big-screen experience. With tighter writing and smarter storytelling, this could have been something more.
For now, Nikita Roy remains a film of unmet potential: a story that reached, but didn't quite grasp.
