If you don't know the world of Warhammer 40,000. It's a dystopian future where human civilisation is under a fascist dictatorship. One of the group of enforces of the emperor's Will are the inquisitors. Like their namesake from the mediaeval era, they are there to root out heresy in all its forms creating a series of about a murky and morally complex role is a good one. The black-and-white art style is reminiscent of Sin City and while the animation is a little static (cheap?) too often, it is appropriate for the content.
The problem is fundamentally this. While the setting is new, the story is just one cliche after another. The opening scene is the protagonist agonising over the Demons of his past. It's not done badly but it's been done better many times before. And that's the problem with the whole thing we move from one scene you've seen before to another familiar scenario, all set to what an A-level drama student thinks is intense. Not bad, just very derivative and once again is not a reason to subscribe to Warhammer+.

I really like this series so far. Sure, it is edgy, but the whole Warhammer universe is.
Besides the cyberpunk aesthetics of the Necromunda tabletop games, the theme is also heavily inspired by the detective noir genre. There are lots of internal monologues and a protagonist is burned-out character, which is a noir staple. Morally awful things happen in the story; basically anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Like in a Max Payne videogame.
The black and white art style perfectly blends to this. Because of the style, the animation feel retro a bit, but it is contributing ot the atmosphere. I also like the voice of Phillip Sacramento.
You shouldn't expect something groundbreaking or high budget, like Arcane. But for a Warhammer it is a must watch series. Unfortunately, it is only available on Warhammer+, which has a bad reputation. I would give a higher rating otherwise.

Now that must be one of the best series on Warhammer TV. The aesthetic is amazing, the black and white tone is just right. The drawings are great and the animation too! But the cherry on the top is the voice acting that is simply A M A Z I N G. Some people mind find the Noir kind of story edgy. But what I see is an amazing dark story in the Warhammer universe that is played out perfectly, I resist the urge to just not binge it and savor it for a while. The Warhammer aesthetic is perfects, so much detail, so much word coming directly out of the universe without making it tiresome.
A great serie I recommend it to anyone with Warhammer +.

Watched the 1st episode and I will not carry on. It is only 13 minutes long so I wouldn't expect character development or a complete story arc, but they seemed so intent on hitting every single cliché possible that they forgot to put in something that you could latch on to. The animation and art style looks cheap and the voice acting is flat. I cannot find any redeeming features in it.
To GW, I made my IMDB account specifically to point out how poor your offering has been overall. There were some really talented individuals producing amazing WH40k content on YouTube and for whatever reason you are not able to recreate that on your platform apart from reposting Astartes.

Rather enjoyed this series, and it's refreshing to have an animated crime story from the UK as the commonly spoon fed American crime TV gets tiresome and repetitively boring.
I don't care much for character development with animated series as they're not meant to be taken seriously however, a little back story would go nicely with making this series a solid entry, however, not including one does offer some mystery to the characters.
Love the black and white theme and the animation presents a nice clean style and intellectual use of basic lines rather than the stuffiness and over detailed scribble of some animated series, and as for the voice acting, don't expect any Oscar winning performances here but it's a sigh of relief not having to listen to cringe over acted monologue.
Overall, a satisfying watch for me, not for all tastes though but if you're stuck in the world of needing explanations for everything then this series is not for you, but if you don't care for such things and just want to watch something different then give this series a try.
