I liked this episode and this season has been good. It's such a refreshing show.

Confused by Ava though, she's supposed to be a writer but hasn't given any jokes and that's supposed to be why she's even there. To help with her career. I get that it's slow to get there not the show it's self but what they're doing but it doesn't seem to show their work for it. She's given a few lines but they didn't land and they weren't really jokes more statements.

Looking forward to watching the last 3 episodes.

A fabulous episode where Deborah reflects on choices she has made and her hyper competitive nature - a game on the battle bus, children at a fair and her climb to the top. During an impromptu stop, she meets Susan, a talented comic friend from the old days who has made different choices and is content in a way that Deborah can scarcely comprehend.

Another fine performance from Jean Smart ably supported by Hannah Einbinder as Ava who acknowledges herself to be as driven and isolated as Deborah.
