The Case of the Lighthouse Leapers

The episode quickly jumps right in. A ghost named Dagfinn appears seeking the Dead Boy Detectives. He angrily demands they get the ghosts out of the lighthouse he has been haunting for years.

In recent days people started to jump off the lighthouse and killing themselves. Now he has extra ghosts loitering about.

As for payment, Dagfinn has saltwater taffy and a cursed magic 8 ball. It will predict when they are going to die.

The Dead Boy Detectives are intrigued by the case. Charles and Crystal learn that the lighthouse leapers were drawn to the top of the lighthouse by voices of their loved ones. Soon Crystal is drawn by a familiar voice.

As for Edwin, he has to deal with the flirtatious Cat King. No wonder Edwin is still counting cats.

I liked the central mystery but it never managed to be lifted much further. So the story arcs like the Cat King and the boys miserable existence when they were humans had to be added like padding.

A lighthouse keeper ghost asks The Detectives to investigate why a number of ghosts are hurling themselves into the water, to their imminent destruction.

Nice ideas, and the concept of a siren of some sort luring ghosts to their demise is very imaginative, romantic almost, but I'd say my least favourite episode so far, it's been fluffy and cutesy from the off, but this one was way too fluffy, it felt like an episode of Scooby-Doo, still decent, but nowhere near dark enough.

Seeing what happened to our Detectives in the past, very revealing, very upsetting, but explains why the pair want to do what they do.

The Cat King once again added some kitsch fun, but I found myself wanting more Esther.

Was that a resolution to one of the strands, is that the last we've seen of The Scottish bureaucrat? I liked her, she was fairly interesting.
