Transport

I watched this series a lot of times when it came out but haven't really seen a lot of it since, episode five was always my favourite but rewatching it recently it really really stood out to me as possibly the best episode in the series. I truly think it could hold up as a short film in its own right. I love the character building of red guy, showing more emotion finally which we saw throughout the TV show (in comparison to the web series) and culminating for him in the final moments before the last scene, absolute desperation. It's got some of my favourite animation pieces from the whole show as well, with the transport song and the "welcome to mulhoven" segment. I think that the parallels between red guy's summary of grolton and hovris & lesley's final speech at the end were really clever. The camera work at the end is gorgeous, highlighting how out of place the three are. It's got the perfect balance between silly and scary, absolutely nailed the tonal shift between the beginning "just a normal episode like the previous four" and the end "oh lord". I'm utterly obsessed with it!
