Wow I'll be honest, I started watching this series because of knowing that Ms. Dolly De Leon will be part of it. And I can say, this series is very unique and has a great mystery vibe to it that I enjoyed in this first episode of Season 2. It has best cinematography and line deliveries are also ICONIC. Agnes as an ex-Nun for Ms. Dolly is very intriguing character and also, Nicole Kidman is always best in her roles including this one. I'm looking forward for the character development in each role to every episode in this series. I probably enjoy this series more and more once every character unveil their stories in each episodes.
Before viewing the first 2 episodes, I read the first couple of reviews here, one rating the start-up 6 and dull, the other rating it 1 and hopeless. Could it be that only mature viewers can grasp what it's up to? Maybe *Nine Perfect Strangers* does not agree with certain younger viewers, but I am intrigued and willing to give it a good try.
The players -- including truly stellar ones -- are as usual all outstandingly talented. The writing so far is terse and just invitingly strange enough to herald tasty complications to come.
'Masha' as in Season 1 appears to have woven a customised Plan for her nine hand-picked guests. Unexpected events mess with her plan right away, creating a welcome current of chaos as counterpoint. In Epi-2 that thread of chaos begins to affect ALL the characters.
Pacing is variable, yet usually good -- and the visuals, right down to significant little details in the settings, are stunning. I wonder what's next, in Epi-3 and beyond, for the characters who've caught my eye from early on ... ?! We'll see!

Season 1 had interesting characters with backgrounds you wanted to hear more about. The drama felt more relatable, especially with the family whose son committed suicide.
I've watched at least five episodes of season 2 and it feels predictable. The characters seem overly dramatic Hoping it gets better before the last episode.

If you've ever wanted to experience the emotional thrill of watching paint dry while someone reads the instruction manual for a toaster, this series might be your dream come true.
I really enjoyed the first season, but the 2nd season is diabolical.
From the first episode, it's clear this series is a textbook case of style over substance - though, to be fair, even the style feels half-baked. What could have been a compelling or at least mildly entertaining show ends up being a slow, meandering mess. The plot - has been lost. Unfortunately, the acting is one of the show's weakest links. Most of the cast seem ill-equippped for their roles, delivering flat, uninspired performances that range from downright awkward to irritating. It is obvious that some was cast more as a checkbox tick, rather than for acting skills and character. It's as if the casting call was held in a shopping mall food court, and they just picked whoever made eye contact. Most of the performances are from "high school drama club understudy". A few of the better actors try to salvage things, but it's like watching a single firefighter trying to put out a dumpster fire with a squirt gun.
By episode four, I was ready to die and decided to throw the towel in. I think I've had my fair share of suffering and couldn't take any more torture.
In the end, it's a frustrating watch, more annoying than entertaining, and almost completely devoid of energy or talent that might justify a second season.
Unless you're a glutton for punishment, you're better off skipping this one.
In short, if you're looking for background noise whilst going about your day, this could be the series for you. Otherwise, save your brain cells, they'll thank you for it.

I watched part of the first season and gave up. The second season came out and I decided to try watching one episode, it just reminded me why I stopped watching. After that, I definitely gave up on this show.
The dialogues are hilarious, and the characters are uninteresting, boring and pretentious. The series looks like a parody. It's a shame, it had potential.
Of course, there is also the usual contempt for Christians, especially Catholics. We watch series and movies for entertainment, not for "lessons". This only creates a counter-effect. It became boring and predictable.
But that is only part of the problem with the series, the biggest problem is that it is pretentious, to the point that it turns into a parody.
Well, at least I didn't waste too much time, this is just another series by writers.
