Master Jedi
Pretty solid all around.
Dooku's arc here, and turn to the dark side, continues to start making a little more sense. Similar to Anakin, he sees how blindsided and ignorant the Jedi council often can be. Exhibit A) Mace wanting to take things back to the council instead of just further investigating.
You really understand Dooku's frustration and point of view. He isn't even being a jerk about any of it either. He's legitimately trying to be an adult about things, with even temper, and he still can't seems to shake how he feels deep down.
As usual, the directing and animation are very good! As is the voice work.

Anyone Notice Plo Koon had Clone Armor on?
Small error seeing Plo Koon with Clone armor on his forearms long before the existence of the War. Obviously not a big deal, just wondering if anyone caught it. Really enjoying the show so far, wish Filoni manned the sequels more and more every day. This did a really good job depicting Dooku and the Jedi in color and less and less black and white. The prequels scratched the surface with this in Revenge of the Sith but I think Filoni took the entire Separatist vs Republic political war to new heights in the clone wars and he is continuing to do so in this show! He truly is the best Star Wars mind.
Much needed backstory for Dooku
I have always thought that Dooku was an underrated character. I always presume that people just think of him as the old Sith guy who gets his head cut off.
He has always been so much more, and this episode backs up that claim; Dooku is not pure evil. Or anything close to it. He wants what is right.
The difference between Mace and Dooku in this episode demonstrates the ignorance that the Jedi council has in all these affairs. They want what is good, but they are oftentimes blinded. Dooku's fall becomes more believable.
Well done episode. The story, writing, animation and music were all solid.

Dookus intentions
That's so cool to finally see how Dooku turned to the Dark Side / How he got his motivation to change the Republic's political system and founding the CIS. The CIS saw the Senate, politicians and all institutions as corrupt. (As you also can see in the 2nd episode of Tales of the Jedi).
Thanks LucasArts for showing some lore which isn't too far in the past but related to the characters we know form the Star Wars movies. Especially because we didn't receive much information about Count Dooku on screen except that he's "the evil guy".
I regret finding this show so late and it's sad that the marketing isn't as big as for example The Mandalorian.

Mace Windu and Count Dooku Are BACK!
Tales of the Jedi continues to get progressively better, and 'Choices' beats both previous episodes in this anthology series. This entry not only is intriguing, but also much more colourful and therefore more visually beautiful. I know the plot was very simple and somewhat predictable, but I was thoroughly entertained throughout this watch. I thought 'Choices' balanced all of its elements masterfully: the drama, the sabotage, and the more serious undertones. Overall, the themes somewhat reminded me of 'Andor', which I really love. I can stress how great it was seeing Mace Windu and Dooku again in this episode, and although I know these episodes feel too familiar with 'The Clone Wars' and 'The Bad Batch', everything seems to just expand the Star Wars universe just a little bit more.
¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaMace Windu is using an earlier version of his lightsaber hilt, lacking the distinct gold embellishments. The blade remains its trademark purple, however. Notably, he is not using the generic hilt that he was briefly seen carrying in Star Wars. Episodio I: La amenaza fantasma (1999).
- ErroresDooku wants to retrieve a Jedi's body to "give them a proper burial." Jedi cremate their dead.
