10/10 to express my appreciation towards the crew for this beautifully crafted TV series: the reflection and details of Song aesthetics, the encouraging friendship among girls, and mostly, the chosen couple of Zhao Pan'er and Gu Qianfan - the chemistry between the two are so heart flattering and no trace of performing. Simply amazing!

Solid script, beautiful cinematography. Full of Chinese cultural aesthetics. All cast did great in this drama! Liu Yifei is such a beautiful and talented actress! So glad to see her returning to c-dramas.

This story shows how Love is not the ultimate happiness in life and not the final goal for every woman, although all the love stories portrayed here are beautiful, sweet and passionate.

Love how every scene and conversation makes sense and how beautifully all relationships grow.

Back when women were not supposed to run businesses, when musicians and dancers had pariah status, Zhao Pan'er (Liu Yifei), a former dancer, owned a restaurant in a village outside the capital. When she got word that her fiance, who was in the capital taking the civil exam, wanted to break off their engagement to marry the daughter of a prominent family, Pan'er trekked to the capital with her best friends. Along the way, she got entangled with Gu Qian Fan (Chen Xiao), deputy Commissioner of the Capital Security Office.

How Pan'er and her friends, all pariahs, change their fates makes for an engrossing and uplifting watch. The romance is quite delectable too.
