Great storyline, well thought out plot, creative approch and enjoyable overall movie.. I found myself flipping back and forth on what I thought the outcome of the movie would be..in the end it all came together and kept me guessing untill the very end. I highly recommend giving it a watch if you like psychological thrillers. The main characters also did a great job keeping the suspense and tension going.
Disclaimer I'm keeping my comments generic and high level to ensure I don't spoil the end for you...take a chance, you won't regret giving Cheat a watch. I know you will enjoy the roller coaster ride.

This is not normally my genre, but thought it was excellent. Was off to slow start, but as the story unfolded, I was quickly engaged. This film is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into betrayal, obsession, and the consequences of deceit. The film follows a couple whose lives take a turn after an affair triggers a dangerous game of revenge. The movie excels in building tension, with strong performances that capture the emotional unraveling of its characters. Just when we think the couple's getaway to a special hotel will have an element of romance, things turn into a captivating psychological story, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Some scenes could have been shortened, particularly the sex scenes and the excessive swearing, but overall Cheat is a solid thriller with a captivating story of deceit, revenge and the dark side of human nature, making it a worthwhile for fans of the genre. I'd give it a solid 7.8 to 8!
This started off slow paces and I didn't know where it was going. But just go with it you won't be disappointed it gets better and it builds. The main characters really had to grow on me, however the supporting cast does play important roles as well. Zoe and Adam had great chemistry but I didn't get that with her and Chris and you will see why as the story goes along. He is such a narcissist. I'm in no way condoning cheating but I can see how people fall into similar situations like this and feel like they have no one to lean on. The diabolical nature her spouse chooses to get back at her is totally unhinged and psychotic.
The first glaring plot hole would have been the same old tired excuse for cheating on her husband. Now if she had of kept to the abusive husband as a reason to move on, I would have bought that one. But he was all up into his job as a DEA agent, was weaker than two percent milk.
The second plot hole would have been the side piece seemed like a step down and not up, so I didn't buy that either, also I would have been inclined to agree with the abusive husband when it comes to the side piece also using her for sex, because he had little to offer.
Now the whole ruse with the kidnapping and torture, I saw through that and why would he "the husband" keep the side piece cellphone??? He's a cop, so why keep incriminating evidence is a major plot hole.
So I will give this a very generous three out of ten for the effort, but what happened to the black and white that was ordered to watch the suspects house?? Oh and yes it was predictable.

This movie definitely stands out as a pleasant surprise in the thriller genre. I'm glad it wasn't predictable and left you wondering along the way. Great to see a well done Canadian film! The violent scenes were well conducted and it was fun to spot some filming locations that are recognizable. Happy that we gave this a watch and stuck with it! The cast did very well in their roles and the stunts were well coordinated. Overall, Cheat is a gripping thriller with a compelling storyline that keeps viewers engaged. This is a must watch for any fans of the genre who appreciate smaller production films.
