I guess everyone is still too stunned to write. It's 5am, barely able to keep my eyes open, and I just finished watching the last episode of the season, hoping for a finale that would meet expectations-and they totally delivered! This series has been a wild ride from the start, hooking me instantly while keeping me on edge, wary of potential disappointments. But this? This exceeded every expectation. The ending is so satisfying that I could live in peace if it concluded here. It's a masterclass in storytelling, where the narrative "just writes itself," as Tarantino would say. The writing is seamless, the plot compelling, and the characters unforgettable. 9 stars only because I don't want it to be filtered out. But let's be real-it's a 10. Thank you for showing what great sci-fi can be!
This final episode will make a high IQ person very angry.
This show could have been great but spends so much time doing nothing and then ultimately the final episode kind of makes the entire show redundant.
This show is purely potential and Apple TV is a very subpar producer of quality television shows.
I feel like I wasted my time watching this show, the main character is extremely stupid.
Off to another world? How? A world where they replace themselves also? A world where they don;t exist? This show has great ideas being displayed in beautiful 4k but goes no where and I do not look forward to season 2 if they keep the same characters and follow this redundant story.

The episode continues with Rogue Jason finding Jason2 in the basement after Daniela pushed him down the stairs. The episode is satisfying to see Jason2 getting beat up and suffering, as he has gone through similar experiences as the original Jason. However, the show loses its effectiveness in the finale, as it becomes too much and out of hand. The story is about Jason vs. Jason2, and the nonexistent showdown and conclusion between them is disappointing. By the time Jason2 arrives at the home Jason, Daniela, and Charlie are taking refuge in, he is remorseful and apologetic for the mess and hurt he created for himself, Daniela, and Charlie. As we saw in previous episodes, Jason has kind of understood how Jason2 could bring it upon himself to take his life and even hurt another version of himself. The showdown and conclusion between Jason and Jason2 go nowhere, and the book the sci-fi drama is based on does not have a more satisfying conclusion. However, Charlie gets a punch in, which is satisfying. Overall, the show's focus on Jason vs. Jason2 and the lack of a satisfying conclusion leaves the audience feeling unsatisfied with the story. The anticipation of the Dessen family's escape from the dangerous world is quickly dashed, and Jason2 helps them escape. Initially blocked by the Jasons at the Box, they decide to listen to the Jason that has hurt them all. The plot holes in the episode include the violence and rationality of the Jasons, and the idea that multiples of this Jason should have appeared. Some positive aspects of Dark Matter episode 9 include the slowdown of the story, the quiet, intimate moments between Jason, Daniela, and Charlie, and the lack of unnecessary tension between Jason and Daniela. However, the episode as a whole and the ending are not as impressed, as everything dies down quickly and it is made easy for the family to escape. After all the Jasons let them through, they get into the Box and are headed to a new reality that Charlie chooses. The intriguing ending is intriguing, but the lack of open-ended endings and lingering questions about Leighton, Amanda, and another version of Ryan meeting make it frustrating. Overall, the Dark Matter story is a unique and interesting one, but there are lingering questions and lingering questions that need to be addressed.
¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThe chandelier above the Dessen's breakfast table is made of wire-frame boxes within wire-frame boxes, surrounding a central cluster of lights. This is reminiscent of the small model of The Box that Jason had created.
- ErroresWhile they are driving in the car, Daniela receives a number of text messages from various phone numbers, none of which have the typical 555 prefix. However, when Charlie receives similar messages all of the phone prefixes are 555. This seems to be an obvious inconsistency.
