Trama

The film depicts the struggle of a young village guy to achieve his dreams and most importantly to achieve self-reliance and atmanirbharta through building his own enterprise, supported full throttle by his Dadi.

Ramesh since childhood had dreams of a good job in a big city. But unfortunately, reality hits him hard when his efforts to land a job go in vain. And the reason is his "garjuyasan (graduation) with Hindi honors. Without proper fluent English, his dream job was eluding him. A frustrated and dejected Ramesh returns to his village and breaks down before his only living guardian, his Dadi. He also partly blames her for not having educated him in an English medium school. Dadi is unmoved and simply tells him that he will have to do something on his own instead of wasting time and energy looking for that job that is constantly eluding him. Ramesh notices a young boy come and buy murabbas from his grandmother and decides to sell murabbas as well, in order to help him learn spoken English. Also, he will at least be earning something rather than sitting idle at home, while looking for a job, he tells her. Although a bit surprised Dadi agrees to help him out. Ramesh goes to town with murabbas and he continues doing this day after day. Despite initial hardships and failures, his business starts growing gradually. The growth is supported by Dadi and her small team of young village women, who manufacture those murrabas regularly, having turned their small village house literally into a manufacturing unit. He gets the opportunity to supply 500 packets of murabbas to his old school on Independence Day. He is taken aback when instead of asking the village sarpanch to raise the flag, the principal asks Ramesh instead to do the needful. His hesitation is put to rest when the sarpanch himself tells him that he is one of those self-reliant young individuals who can add to the growth of the nation and thus he is the rightful person to hoist the flag. Realization dawns and Ramesh realizes that if it had not been for Dadi's support, this would not have been possible. He tells all who are present there, that Dadi is actually the rightful person to hoist the flag. He brings Dadi to the forefront and an emotional Dadi breaks into tears and holding Ramesh's face in her hands fondly, wishes him "Happy Independence Day". The story ends portraying a simple message that it takes not only the grit and determination of an individual but the support and love of his or her near and dear ones to make the impossible possible, to create the self-reliant individual and thus an atmanirbhar nation.
