Zero Friends Again

It was a great episode. Although it didn't contribute much to the continuity of the story, it was an episode that made us identify with the characters, making us feel like children in the Star Wars universe, not as artificial series characters, unlike episode 4. Episode 4 consisted of artificial dialogues and squeezed a classic plot into twenty minutes. Even though the length did not increase in episode 6, the dialogue quality and the emotions it conveyed were great. The scenes that made me like this episode of the series were the scene where KB asks Wim for help and the scene where Jod Na Nawood (aka Captain Silvo) uses his Equal Time right. In short, although it did not contribute to the continuation of the story, it was a very sweet, watchable and decent episode.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I like this episode. I'm really turning around to the kids and I have to admit, the little bonding moments they share between each other are really cute. Even though I still feel this show is one I'll look to as peak Star Wars, I don't think that really matters anymore. The Star Wars brand has a bit of a tarnished reputation these days, and all I was looking to get out of it these days was something to enjoy watching and looking forward to. I can safely say that is the case with this show and I'm excited to see where things in the last two episodes.

Bryce Dallas Howard displays a sure footing as the director of this episode. She can deal with the set pieces and the small scale character stuff with the kids.

After what looked like Jod's betrayal of the kids. He now has to deal wit the pirates who have taken over the hotel and caught Jog with jewels and valuables.

Once again Jod has to think quick. He demands a trial and dangles a carrot, treasure in Al Attin.

The kids catch sight of X Wings but they need to work together to get back to their ship. Eventually try to get off the planet.

This one really had the Goonies vibe, as the kids deal with Jod's betrayal. There is a sense that they might learn from this and emerge stronger.

I just think the series as a whole is watchable but not more than that.

This series has been good fun so far. The characters are good, and the acting is mostly good as well. Child actors are just hit or miss sometimes. I really like Jude Law's character and I'm intrigued to find out what his backstory really is. The last 2 episodes should be really good.

There are certain points during the episode that will have you rolling your eyes a little, but it's ok if you don't think about it too much.

I think this is what star wars really needed, a lighthearted show to appeal to younger audiences. But still being well-made enough to appeal to adults. I think they have pulled that off.

With her two episode arc, Wesner nails it. This episode had all the Star Wars nostalgic touchstones we love while propelling the brand further into an untapped frontier. This IS Star Wars... and no it's not an old re-tread. It's cute, new, exciting, and a joy!

The young actors continue to shine backed by a great script. KB took center stage this episode with a compelling and heartwarming arc that every child (and many adults) can relate to. Her line to Wim still warms my heart.

Star Wars directorial veteran Bryce Dallas Howard delivers her best episode yet. I would love to see a Howard and Wesner tag team project in the future. This episode was magic, brilliant, BRAVO!

Side note: How are they making those X-wings feel so good?! Somehow they channeled the wonder we once felt as children hearing the laser fire, watching them twist and turn so gracefully.
