I was a bit hesitant about watching this series at first as I have not had much luck finding decent horror anthologies besides Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. By no means am I putting this series in that league. It's not, however I find each story that I watched entertaining enough, and production values and the acting was fairly decent.
I would have of course liked to see them more closely follow the urban legends they seem based off, instead of going a bit 'out there' with them. Which is especially the case of the 2nd one in the series.
However, they are watchable and kept me wanting to see what was happening next.

I love urban legends, so I decided to give this one a try, despite being produced and created by "master" Eli Roth (arguably one of the worst well known horror directors)
While episodes were not directed by Eli, show has his prints all over them, starting with dull uninteresting direction, terrible pacing and dialogues that only Eli Roth can deliver.
So far I've seen two episodes, "The Red Room" and "The bite" and both were equally dull, boring and drawn out, in particular "The Bite" felt like I was watching two hour movie, when each episode is around 35 minutes long.
Acting is wooden and stiff, but this might be more related to poor direction, especially in "The Bite".

I don't understand the low ratings and bad reviews in here as I found this tv series quite entertaining. I don't expect to watch a psychological horror movie from Eli Roth and won't expect too much escalating horror due to the limited lenth of a TV episode (about 50 mins). And I also don't expect to watch every episode with brand new and unique ideas, it is becasue this project is about turning some urban legends we've heard before into TV graphic horror, probably with a little new idea and a twist, but these new ideas and twists won't be deviated far from the original urban legends, same situation in "American horror stories" as well. If you like Eli Roth's movie, bloody horror and jump scare stuffs, you would enjoyed this TV series.
I've always loved horror, whether it's your typical gore kind of horror, creepy horror, disturbing horror, or psychological horror. Horror has a broad range in its meaning for me in the sense that I view them from a "it can happen in real life" perspective.
Jumping into this series was enjoyable and I love mini horror shorts, anthologies that tell individual stories like visual book chapters. This started strong and keeps your attention throughout each episode, and the filmmaker discussion at the end of each anthology adds a perfect touch to the entire series. This is especially because I love taking deeper dives into how films are created, how a thought behind a project, a creature, a story becomes a film; and becomes bigger than what it began as.
Telling stories in artistic form, especially in filmmaking is amazing and I'm always here for it. I hope this series continues because you come to appreciate it for what it is.
You will enjoy it.

The plot holes are SO annoying. In. Every. Single. Episode. You could drive an ocean liner through the many plot holes! Sad thing is they aren't hard to fix but there's just no care or concern to do so on the part of any of the directors as evidenced in Roth's sit down and chat with them. Roth's insistence that each and every particular urban legend is the most well known and widespread gets tiresome and phony since I've lived a lot longer than he has and never heard of half of theses and the one I heard the most isn't even done or mentioned. The acting wasn't all bad (depends on the episode). The show is worth a watch and INFINITELY better than Two Sentence Horror Stories.
