This movie had heart, compassion and tenderness along with multiple moments of humor, Those that panned it probably have a different kind of agenda. I cannot recall when I've so enjoyed a movie about romance and multiple kinds of love. I loved the way dance was woven into the story.
The rediscovery of the romance in a marriage with kids was refreshing and a story we don't see very often. I also appreciated the focus on Greek traditions that demonstrated the deep bonds of marriage.
Read and trust the reviews that focus on the sweet and passionate moments in this movie you won't be disappointed.

It came on Amazon Prime right after Granchester and my wife and I got sucked into watching it.
It is so hokey and ridiculously unrealistic. It borrows heavily from It's a Wonderful Life and Back to the Future but does so poorly and with heavy religious overtones. Blech. I hate sappy, moralistic movies where people say things and comport themselves like no other human I've ever known.
If you're a normal, non-believer kind of person, you're gonna laugh at how ridiculous the dialogue and behavior of the characters are. I would normally say this is 1:25 of my life that I would really like to have back but my wife and I groaned and laughed so much it was an enjoyable time. But not for the reason the filmmaker intended.

I just started watching and had tears in my eyes 15 minutes in. So I decided to start the review now because I know it's going to be an amazing journey. It's a Romance comedy and drama all rolled into one. I wonder why has no one reviewed this movie? It seems like it wasn't shown on any big platform and slipped under the radar. Probably because it's a faith-based film. Believing in God has become a dirty word in Hollywood. For some reason many Americans can watch a movie with Hindu Muslim or Buddhist religions undertones and give great reviews, yet the minute it has Christianity involved, the reviews get resentful, critical and defensive. I'm saying this as someone who is on the fence about Christianity. If you'd check that particular prejudice off to the side, you will find a romance movie with SO MUCH HEART. This is one of those second chances to learn important lessons movie.
The main characters have great chemistry. Elizabeth Rohm looks amazing. The male lead Robert Krantz looked familiar and after searching I see he's been in a few movies I really liked. In the ones I've seen his character is always a fun and joyous dancer including this one. I adore Tom Arnold's character (Johnny Angel), I always enjoy Tom Arnold. The FABULOUS Vivica A Fox plays the boss lady, and as always gives a great performance. Then there is Connie Sellecca playing the mom/grandmother. She is clearly someone who has mastered the art of aging gracefully in Hollywood, although her character is playing a character feeling older than she really is.
This movie is a masterful reminder of living in the now (even though the plot is about living in the past). There are some really funny moments (the uber skit, dropping the kids off with grandma and the 'my man' moment) but there's also many moments you will need to grab some tissues. I usually don't cry during romance movies but did with this one. Please give this movie a chance and watch it.

I didn't continue the movie because I don't enjoy Christian based films. That doesn't mean I live a life of debauchery. Lol. Believe it or not, there are lots of good people and good families that aren't Christian. You aren't being persecuted and the US was not created by "God", any more than any other nation. We are not better than nor more deserving than any other country. People can say what they like, we are still free (so far) and if your religion is so fragile that you take offense when someone else doesn't believe it, your faith must not be all that strong.
Consider that there are other religions and they are good people. There are non-religious people, who do good things and take care of people and cause no harm because it's the right thing to do, no because of some fear of reward or punishment.

I can't help but notice that it's common for some to use their hatred towards others to make their comments based on whether this movie was perhaps Christian in nature, and therefore deserves a bruising score than something else that better fits their lifestyle. In other words, they promote their debachery by doing so. Whether these people like it or not, this country was established by God and movies like this are such that families can all watch it without being embarrassed by the vile content or the filthy language. The heart and soul of any country that aspires to be great is the family and its success. I loved the movie and I thought it was very well done and any movie that keeps my undivided attention is worth watching unless you're as described above. I could identify with this man somewhat because I lost my brother when I was 15 and he was 14 to Cancer and I know I will see him again one day and that day is fast approaching. I don't blame God for his death but I blame man's fallen corrupt nature inherited from Adam and the God of this world who comes to steal, kill and destroy life. But Jesus, the 2nd Adam, came to save us, deliver us and give us abundant life and someday soon eternal life.
