Happy Wedding Eve

Amelia and Benji are enjoying a pre wedding rehearsal, the guests arrive, the alcohol flows, but instead of it ending on a happy note, tragedy strikes, and a body is found floating in the water.

I'll start by saying this, visually it's a feast for the eyes, it looks incredible, the setting is unbelievable, plus there are some very beautiful people here, Liev Schreiber really is a dilf.

The story however, I thought it was a bit shallow, it did nothing for me, we have seen this setup so many times before. The class wars seems a little old hat nowadays.

It takes an age til we discover who actually is dead in the water, I'm not too sure that worked very well.

Most of the characters were loathsome, Tom in particular, what an odious, entitled, privileged little Prince he is.

A good cast, with plenty of well known faces, including the excellent Nicole Kidman, a curious role for her I'd have thought.

The series seems to be a mixture of crime/ thriller/ whodunnit and a kind of family drama of the super-rich.

The first episode wasn't bad, but it wasn't a spectacular highlight either. Good: The actors are all very convincing (Kidman and Schreiber in particular are extremely good and perform great), most of the dialogue fit well and the atmosphere is harmonious. The setting (The Kennedy property in Cape Cod probably served as a model) is really high quality and very convincing.

But: the story is a bit boring, because you've seen something like this too many times before. The many clichés are also very annoying.

I'm not sure if I'll keep on watching - Probably yes, because there are a lot of series that are significantly worse. I wish for more suspense and less drama...

Like others wrote, it's been done before and done better. It's a little slow and repeats all the typical stereotypes of families with four kids.

My favorite part is figuring out where I've seen all the others actors before. Guest roles on TV, recurring roles in comedies, other streaming shows. The actors are getting work so that's a good thing. I'm surprised Nicole Kidman would do this show since BLL was so successful. Try something different next time.

I'll probably keep watching bc the scenery is beautiful, but it's just something to pass the time when I'm on the treadmill. Good thing it's a short series. I couldn't watch 19 episodes.
