The Clervixian Dinner Helmets

A lot of things were thrown against the wall this episode, and much of it was very funny.

A lot of meta humour as per usual, a lot of deep cut references (Frasier, Man in the High Castle, Dragonball Z.... list goes on).

But as a singular episode wasn't all that strong. Episode lacked focus as they tried to reintroduce us to the Solar Opposites, be wacky for the sake of wacky, and set up the season. It was kind of exhausting and a little irritating.

I still had fun though. Don't want to be all negative, some genuine A grade humour amongst all the random.

It was maybe a little bit too extra.

There's an over reliance on Meta-jokes to ignore the plot contrivances. The humor is still on point. The satire is still fantastic.

Yumyulack's character is still very flat. Out of all the characters, he is the only one that has no character development and remains as unlikely as season one. The show writer's solution is to make his unlikability and lack of development the butt of copious meta jokes in the show. It's quite ingenious rly but it's not quite to my taste. Jessie is cute and adorable, so is pupa.

Terry and Korvo are still sweet tgt. They stay with each other even though they can both be insanely unbearable at times. Seeing them continue to take care of each other in spite of their many flaws is heart warming and cute.

The wall arc is still great even though it's becoming formulaic. The season begins by introducing a new character to the Wall, revealing that the wall has been taken over by yet another despot. The character realises the shiftiness of the wall and has a change of heart. The tyrant is overthrown, but another power hungry character takes over as the new despot. It doesn't rly comment on the nature of power any more than season one did. I'd be fine if the wall arc ended by showing the status quo never changes and we focus on the Opposites and Silver Cops instead.
