Todd has regained his detective license and installed himself as independent P.I. inside his tiny law firm office. He's on he list of 16 employees Margaret, who proudly threw a party for her promotion to full 'name partner', is assigned to fire, as the firm is near bankruptcy. Margaret seeks to regain a deserting client, a local TV station, by offering her services to the fired executive suspected of a murder on live morning news. Her alternative suspect however, an intern, hires Todd to prove his innocence, undercover as the new intern.
