Another watchlist dive let me to this one. A rather fun little horror, comedy(?) that worked well for what it was but lasted a bit too long for its simple premise. But I think the people into camp and guts will like this.
A friend group visits their friend who haven't contacted them for a long time. He is not quite himself.
This movies first half is pretty good. Leading up with some good horror suspense with a few bad scare factor moments sprinkled throughout. Then the second half is more of a body horror and that works well too here but is a bit hit or miss. The movie is very "Exorcist"(1973) coded.
I liked the location a lot. The front is scary and the insane is believably messy, but the back is more disturbing.
The effects are hit and miss. The practical blood effects I have more respect for than the digital effects that look a bit cheap.
I think this is a horror comedy with the tone, but the language barrier makes it hard for me to determine, but I think the latter half is a bit more comedic. I am also not sure of their friend is just a bit nuts or if he is possessed or something.
It's a short where not a lot is explained but we don´t really need too either. But it extends its welcome with a bit too many repetitive things. But the body horror is okay.
This was a fun little watch overall and I liked what it was doing.
