Interesting idea but such a dumb concept presented that I felt very empty afterwards. The movie deals in telling and showing about the usual three national passions of Brazilian people:
beer, buttocks and soccer, and how those three elements have an exposition not only through media but also very present in everyone's lives. Here, a bunch of anonymous character intertwine
with each other in Rio during a soccer game day (I deduce that since everyone is wearing Brazil jerseys on the street or indoors), and with the element of soccer present the next closely
associated with the sport is beer; butts are a different thing - the idea of carnival should be used but...the shift comes from presenting characters whose butt appears in great evidence,
wheter by just laying in bed, or moving around in positions of evidence.
On a page dedicated to the movie, it is said this whole triad thing we hear all the time about national passion is a notion constructed by advertising and media, and that doesn't
reflect exactly what every Brazilian actually likes. But is a valid point of reference and at least one of the items is a source of pride or it's well liked by people. However, to a potential viewer
who simply was put through the movie without knowing any info beforehand it's a bizarre experience whose meaning will only come on the final scene since from the get-go it's a bunch of
random characters walking around, doing their business, partying at a bar or playing soccer.
Was there any image of great interest here? There was one, very early one but it goes by so quickly it loses its effect - a scene of quiet sexual nature. Had it presented conventional
situations, some dialogue and storyline where all the three elements are discussed or somehow put in the foreground then maybe we could have something worth seeing. But eight minutes revolving
unmoving images is way too long to bring nothing to its audience. I was intrigued by it for a while but then it just got lost in itself. 2/10.
