Outside of the weirdly handleded Costner departure...

...this episode has some serious narrative/editing issues.

For example, it really made me dislike Beth. Kelly is an immensely talented actress, but this episode takes her character over the edge. She was an incredibly strong character from the beginning with some quirks, but this episode just tares her down to a child and I don't understand why they made the decision to edit the episode the way they did to make her seem this way.

The narrative and editing are just clunky. Incoherent at times. Rather than to serve a purpose, it seems mainly there because they couldn't figure a good way to write of Costner's character. Hopefully it just lasts an episode or two.

It has actually a good message in it

I have been a fan of the show, this ending is not my favourite though. While they put RIP in texas when he should be where the drama is, there is some truth on conversations had. Not only when RIP talks to Dustin but also to the cowboys. It makes you really think about what society has done and will continue doing to the environment! While shows normally don't have that much meaning, this one is true on why people should support locals and take care of the environment. Making me happy to watch this episode and enjoy it. Not saying that should matter but it does help spread the word to wake people up.

A Fresh Start and Unwarranted Criticism

Episode 9 of Yellowstone's fifth season marks a pivotal point in the series, offering viewers a new beginning that seems to have divided opinions. While some fans are quick to criticize, it's important to appreciate the bold narrative choices and stunning cinematography that continue to define the series.

Plot and Characters: The episode brings fresh developments that are both intriguing and vital for the storyline. Characters are evolving, and their arcs reflect realistic growth and new challenges. It's a testament to the show's commitment to character development and storytelling.

Cinematography: The visual appeal remains as striking as ever. The breathtaking landscapes and meticulous scene compositions provide a cinematic experience that few TV shows can rival.

Public Reaction: Unfortunately, some viewers are resistant to change, failing to embrace the new directions. However, this episode stands as a testament to the show's enduring quality and ability to innovate. If you're not willing to give this fresh perspective a chance, perhaps it's time to move on. For those still invested, the beauty and depth of Yellowstone remain.

In conclusion, Episode 9 is a refreshing and beautiful addition to the series. If you don't enjoy the new twists, it's simple: don't watch. For those who appreciate growth and cinematic artistry, this episode delivers in spades. 🌄🎬

    A promising start

Yellowstone's back! Venturing into new territory with the difficult task of filling the void left by the towering presence of John Dutton. It's no secret that Kevin Costner's portrayal has been the backbone of the series, and shifting focus away from him is a daunting challenge.

Definitely feels like a transitional episode with moments that nod at future plot points, it's understandable given the monumental shift the show is navigating. There are hints of closing arcs that could pay off if nurtured well, and the cinematography remains stunning as ever, capturing the beauty of the Duttons' Montana.

Overall, it's a solid effort that sets the stage for the next chapter. We'll miss John's stoic resolve, but this episode shows there's still life and story left in Yellowstone's legacy. Here's hoping it sticks the landing and McConaughey gets a spinoff!

    Disappointing Letdown

There are many characters on this show, but only a few matter. I do like the ranch hands. They provide a great deal of color and humanity. Only John Dutton, Beth, Rip, Gil Birmingham's character, and Tate matter. Jamie is weak and irrelevant. So is Kayce, who has never found himself. The heart has been cut out of the show. It will never be the same and is not meant to. Kevin left time to finish the show, but there was no script. He also thought the show was losing it's way. He was right, but he was told to stick to acting. This is a really disgraceful way to end an iconic character and show. It reminds me of the disastrous end of 'Game of Thrones'. I don't feel the same about it

I watch many of Sheridan's shows: 1883, my favorite, 1923, which, in my opinion, has yet to start, Lioness, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown I'll watch Landman and Madison.

I know I'll live long enough to see the end of Yellowstone, but with the incredibly slow pace of making shows today, that is probably the only one. My time is running out.

Hippie: Hey, you think we could get a picture with the horses?

      Rip Wheeler: No.

Hippie: Oh, you just let that kid pet him.

      Rip Wheeler: Yep.

      Girlfriend: Why not us?

Rip Wheeler: You do it once, you're being nice. You do it a second time and you're a petting zoo. This ain't no fucking petting zoo. You want to pet a horse, go buy one.
