Far from Home

First things first The hype from the movie was something else, I decided to spend time to download, watch and give my remarks on it, which I did and would love to share it.

The early part of the movie was seemingly interesting I was loving it and flowing with it until it got to a point when everything became two easy You see two persons who see for the first time and they fall in love immediately, bumping into each other, one of the things we have seen over and over again. There were no changes made to it.

Let's talk about the use of excess stars in the movie The unrealistic part of school, which is something I am still trying to wrap my head around, the visiting times of the school, the horrible fight scenes at the end.

Practically just a show of luxury with little or nothing to gather from the movie.

Watch just for entertainment purpose only, nothing fantastic to see here.

For a show meant to appeal to Nigerians, this show whitewashed the culture down to the mere pronunciation of the protagonist's name; Ishaya.

There are lots more things that make the show extremely unbearable to watch such as the lack of proper context of what exactly Wilmer is, the cringeworthy dialogues, as well as the forced accents and the mediocre acting from a vast majority of the cast excluding the portrayers of the Antagonists. Surely there are much more talented actors in Nigeria; the most populated country in Africa yet the ones that make it to the big screen always represent the Nigerian movie industry quite poorly.

The show has flaws that outweigh the good parts, however i honestly couldn't stop until i got the last episode. The show had so much potential and could do better with a lot more brains put into the writing. It's worth a watch nonetheless.

Literally every single cliche you can think of was put into this that it's almost embarrassing. It's like an insult to the intelligence of the audience. Are we suppose to believe these are actually teenagers? The story is so rushed and there are so many plot holes. Drug dealing show to save family cliche, friend sleeping with friends boyfriend cliche, guy sneaks into a school out of his league cliche, school riot cliche that actually works despite the fact kids actually burned the school, kidnapping cliche, bitter ex girlfriend turned villain cliche which makes zero sense. How did she even get supply or people to work for her....so many secrets and lies cliches in this that its so bad. Protagonist knows a secret and keeps it from love interest cliche, the person the protagonist admires disappoints him cliche, the fact that the school actually knows the protagonist cheated and yet allows him to stay.....so much obvious nonsense..

I haven't written a review on IMDB before, but with how terrible this Film is , I feel like I need to inform Sane , intelligent persons to avoid this film at all cost!!

It's so terrible I don't even know where to begin. The plot is very unrealistic, the acting was wooden on most occasions. So many cringe moments like the Cheerleader scenes. Cheer leaders in Nigeria?!!! C'mon!!!

How about the fight scenes, or the kid kidnapping, so many plot holes it's a wonder the actors didn't fall through a crack.

Please avoid at all cost. You should Instead watch wet paint dry up. That'll be a more reasonable use of your time.

I will play the devils advocate and at least say the series showed moments of promise but never delivered on that promise which was a big disappointment given the strong cast.

The cinematography and production design was the only redeeming qualities. As for the story it was poor, illogical,cringe and hard to watch. The fact that the creators decided to be derivative with the western way of high-school drama made me cringe because we have our own unique stories and experiences that haven't been given chance to flourish on the screen, only when we realise our stories are important can we truly create genuine art that do come off as pretentious.
