A well attempted film
Just watched *Kaliyugam*, and honestly, I'm a bit torn. The film does a great job building a dark, believable dystopian world, and visually, it's really impressive. Some of the frames looked straight out of a graphic novel, and the atmosphere throughout was haunting. Shraddha Srinath completely nailed her role-quiet, powerful, and totally convincing. She carries the emotional weight of the film effortlessly.
But at the same time, the pacing felt off in places. The first half takes its time setting things up, which is fine, but at points, it felt like it was dragging without really moving the story forward. The second half definitely picks up and delivers some tense moments, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was missing. The emotional connection didn't land as hard as it could have.
Also, while the world-building was fantastic, some of the supporting characters felt underdeveloped. You don't really get to know or care about them, which makes the stakes feel lower than they should.
Overall, *Kaliyugam* is definitely worth watching for its fresh take and brilliant visuals, but I wish the storytelling had a bit more punch. If you're okay with a slow burn and love atmospheric films, you'll probably enjoy it. Just don't go in expecting a fast-paced thriller.
