School's back in and Wednesday's back at Nevermore Academy. This time Pugsley's joining her. She returns to find that she's quite the celebrity due to her saving the school. There's also a new school principal who has some interesting ideas. Moreover, Wednesday has a stalker.
I really enjoyed Season 1 of Wednesday. Refreshingly original, quirkily funny and entertaining while still being quite dark with an outstanding performance by Jenny Ortega it was a fantastic experience.
Coming up to Season 2 I was worried that S2 wouldn't be able to replicate the freshness and quirkiness of S1, that much of the allure of S1 was the novelty of it and that this would wear off with S2. Thankfully, I needn't have worried.
S2 picks up perfectly where S1 left off with the same quirky, dark, fresh vibe. No resting on laurels as the series forges ahead at a good rate. We already have a degree of mystery and intrigue due to the stalker and another plot.
Jenny Ortega is as good as ever, as is Emma Myers as Enid. Steve Buscemi is a great addition as Principal Dort.
Looking forward to the remainder of the season.

Wow, Tim Burton and Wednesday made a great comeback with this first episode of Season 2. Such great acting, effects and storyline in the opening for this season. I love how the dark vibe, creepy and eerie feels surrounded this episode. It was a perfect way to start the season. Jenna Ortega as Wednesday never fails to amaze me by how her acting is very effective and so dark convincing!
Jenna Ortegas portrayal of Wednesday remains a 10/10. Every scene with Wednesday tends to be fantastic. The problem is the supporting cast. Joy Sunday's acting was quite bad in season one, both the character Bianca and her portrayal of her was cringeworthy and skippable. She's back for more cringe in season 2, and now Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley is added to the mix. I thought he was great in season 1, but now his acting seems uncomfortable and forced, and it's making me uncomfortable too. The story seems alright, but significantly less happened than episode 1 in season 1, and the action seems more spontaneous rather than built out like season 1.
While watching I have the feeling the script and dialogue was written by someone with not much experience. The lines often seem unrealistic. Yes, Wednesday has its own dark style, but at least in previous season this looked real, in this new season it just seems fake and it does not take you away in its world. After watching the first episode, I don't feel curious to see what happened next and this was definitely not the case for season one.
An amazing, scary and perfect first episode of the next season. Perfectly connecting to the first season. It is very fun and entertaining episode. Tim Burton really did well with this one, amazing directing and the Skull Tree story had amazing animation; classic Tim Burton. It is a little bit darker than the last season, which I like.

- TriviaThe cottage shown in the episode is a nod to the original Addams Family tv show of the 60s. Pink wallpaper was used on the original show as it broadcasted better in black and white.
- ErroresThe "psychic glitch" dripping down Wednesday's cheeks is immediately rubbed off with a single wipe of the hand, yet was completely undisturbed by the cloth wrapped tightly around her face just moments before.
