Cobra Kai used to be great, a true sequel to the Karate Kid movies, however it's got a lot worse since Season 4, the acting is really nothing to applaud and the writing has worsen horrifically.
In my opinion, this series has majorly overstayed its welcome, I don't really understand what it's even about anymore unfortunately. Repetitive plot points is honestly the only remaining factor this show brings to the table.
I think it's great that since Netflix took over the series has gained MAJOR popularity and Cobra Kai has since been known around the world now, I remember it was very irrelevant when it was a Youtube series.
I'm sorry to say but I'm glad it's coming to and end now. I just hope it's a good ending, this series used to be special but has been watered down to a classic Netflix teen drama...

I know that there have been some poor episodes in previous seasons but nothing like this. On top of it, this is the final season opener!! I'll try episode two before deciding whether to give up or not. However, I don't have high hopes. It's almost Acolyte level bad. Cheesy scene setups, even cheesier script, high school play level acting (except for a few). On top of all that are the action scenes - I would think that after five seasons they would have sufficient experience and skills to make it look a little realistic... But no! Just closely watch the episode ending fight scene and you will see what I mean. I would have given up half way through had not been for my wife telling me to stop being so cynical and give it a chance.
The show has lost its charm, the reality based early seasons is gone. It's gone far too corny and dorky. I guess it's not marketed towards anyone over 20 but a lot of us loved the older seasons and movies. It's getting so silly I wouldn't be surprised if it started copying street fighter moves and began throwing fireballs and lightening kicks. The fights are so comical and over the top. I seen better more realistic fights on old power rangers episodes. I'm kind of happy this show is ending because I don't think I I'd watch another season if it continues this way. Right now I'm just curious how it ends but it's a shame how it's ending cause it started so strong.
After almost two years of waiting Cobra Kai finally returns for its last season. Split into three parts each consisting 5 episodes this will be an epic ride! Episode one does the best job it could possibly do by giving the viewer an overview of the current situation in the valley.
John struggles a bit with losing his dojo Eagle Fang. He wants his dojo being represented in the name of the Miyagido dojo and is ready to fight for it. However after being confronted with Cobra Kai possibly making a return he sees that this is not what he wants. So he conceided, as he put it, and the two dojos are finally united.
And the last scene of the episode set the tone for what to come. Kreese is back smoking his iconic cigar saying the line we all waited for this two years
COBRA KAI NEVER DIES!

The one liners dropped by Sam in this episode are lines that make me want to rip my ears wide open, stick my finger into my ear hole, and pull out chunks of my brain. The episode lacks continuity, flow, and comedy (no lines that even make me smile in the slightest) which is crazy because it's literally a comedy drama.
The action is unnecessary and just feels like a cash grab, not to mention the boring fight choreography.
The first two seasons did a really good job at balancing the fight with the dialogue. Unfortunately, the goofiness of this episode seemingly tear up everything I grew to love about this series.
These 9s and 10/10 reviews are misleading, especially since it has a lot to live up to (the first two seasons especially).
I thought the arcade character development was smart, so that's my one positive thing I got from the whole episode.
Check it out to prove me wrong.

- TriviaIn the arcade, Robby (Tanner Buchanan) steps in front of the shooting game with his hands up and says, "I give up! Don't shoot!" and Kenny (Dallas Young) turns and walks away. The same thing was done by Daniel (Ralph Macchio) to Ali (Elisabeth Shue) in The Karate Kid (1984).
- ErroresThe newspaper article "Martial Arts Mayhem!" has three paragraphs that repeat twice.
