Absolutely amazing short film! Watched this in Saskatchewan, at Yorkton Film Festival, and it took my breath away at how intricately constructed this story is from the visuals to the characters - all with limited resources, and filmed between two countries!

Can't wait to see how far this goes in the festival circuit and beyond. A must-watch for anyone who wants to break into the industry to create work that is passionate and real. This is a triumphant work with a heartbreaking story surrounding domestic abuse and will change the lives and perspectives of those who watch.

This movie combined and showed the creativity of people from across the countries from Canada to Asia. A true story of the movie Director, Zhimin. This is a tribute to her father, to her childhood, to her past and the breakthrough in her current life.

It's about forgiveness, about love, about growth and transformation.

Zhimin put her heart, all her efforts in script writing, casting, movie directing, film shooting and editing. It's always being challenging for an independent filmmaker to have a good film done without enough budget. But Zhimin never gives up. She's always on her way to deliver a story that can resonate with audiences, even with different cultural backgrounds. Don't miss out this film. It will open another window to your life and thinking.

The Teacup embodies a powerful story behind the themes of trauma and forgiveness in the Asian cultural and generational conflicts between the parent and child.

From personal experience, this film is so relatable through trauma bonding, with many impactful scenes that build up to broken relationships. A few of these scenes made me tear up a bit because of how real it felt.

Asian adults in this generation may be able to relate to the nuances of these relationships living in a broken family home when they were young, living in the present to protect their children from repeating the same trauma, and finding forgiveness to oneself to release the burden of trauma. If you have been through parent-childhood trauma, watching this film may be triggering, and has done a great job in laying out the scenes to do that.

Overall, this one is highly recommended to watch and understand how it is relatable in this generation.

Watch out for this an amazing short film addressing domestic violence. The story is very well told and moving, I cried a few times watching it. The story beautifully told, the acting is spectacular and the visuals are breathtaking. I expecailly love the ending...

I had the pleasure of working with ZhiMin on a few projects as the art director. She really has a unique vision and approach for story telling as a director. Super talented, skillful, well rounded person. Her ability to pull emotion out of people who are acting for the first is so rear.
