Vinland Saga season two reinvents itself, with a superb episode, concentrating on our beloved heroes.

What a great ending this episode has! The plot twist hit me hard and I am looking forward to see what happens next. Einar and Arnheid would be a great couple, but is it still possible? Let's hope so.

The old master was also excellent, he is my favorite side character of the show so far. I loved to see him again and I am sad that he will not be there much longer.

The intro and outro music also changed. While the legacy of "River" and "Without Love" is still untouchable I am sure the new ones will take over my heart, too.

With all this said, Vinland Saga is still one of the best shows to watch every week.

I understand that perhaps this is a very unpopular opinion, but I really enjoyed this episode. Maybe it's because I'm just a sucker for slow paced, atmospheric and lyrical storytelling, which is done on a masterful level in this episode.

The seeming contrast between depressing and hopeful scenes, the engaging and beautifully drawn mundane existence of the main characters, the slow intense buildup of the upcoming hardships, the chilling ending - everything here is done perfectly in my opinion. Of course not everyone would appreciate such a slow episode right in the middle of the season, but I believe that it perfectly serves its' part as some kind of an "eye of the storm" or "the final moment of calm before chaos" part of the story.

What a great opening scene! It shows the nature of this show that does not shy away from reality but instead present things as they were in this timeperiod! This season has focused on slaves and slavery and the opening scene shows another aspect of it as well as the consequences!

Overall this season very much shows us how it is to live in this world! How does your environment affect you, what are the consequences of the life you have lived and is it possible to live a different life? It is also about taking care of those who took care of you! Love your next!

Animation is just as good as always with some great shots! The opnening is a banger! Great song and amazing visuals that really got me hyped for this second part!
