The Dance of the Dragons is a story of epic tragedy. Let us see it and feel it with these characters. Show us the manoeuvring rather than always verbalising it in the same settings. Show us the familial bonds between these characters so they feel like an actual family. Let the characters make choices (and not via 'accidents'). Let the Velaryons have dimension rather than existing as mere tools to say 'yes' to Rhaenyra. Let us scream with rage at these characters and cry when they cry. Just make us feel something worthwhile, because with each episode, it's becoming harder and harder to care.
It wasn´t bad but it also wasn´t good either. I don´t care about action as long as there is either real character development, a clever or catchy story development, the introduction of something you feel that really matters or anything with a bit of special wit, charm other something that would be genuinly simply exciting.
Many things felt kind of random, the dialogues are ok, but without verve and certainly not to the point. Some story elements that were introduced in the episode, will drag on a bit but as viewer you expect they will be kind of pointless and basically will just provide the "action cannon fodder" for the final episodes.
All in all it´s still solid but authors shouldn´t complain too much if they get replaced by an AI soon.
We wait two years of suspense to give me 8 episodes of extreme badness and weakness? Is the story this weak and poor?
Frankly, I am not satisfied with the episode or the entire season. Even the dragon battle in the fourth episode was not epic and does not compensate or cover the extent of the weakness and poverty in the series.
In fact, this season is one of the worst I have ever seen from George R. R. Martin, and many unimportant scenes are filled in instead of important ones.
For me, the series is a big "disappointment" and I did not expect it to be this weak and bad after waiting two years, and I do not expect that the next two episodes will change anything in my opinion of this series.
I see everyone just saying that nothing happened this episode, but that is just wrong. There were a lot of amazing scenes and moments, some intricate schemes and revelations.
The only thing I can understand though is Daemon. He is chilling in Harrenhal not doing anything for a bit too long now. It's time for him to come back.
Other than that, I really liked this episode. Get your head out the gutter guys, this is just what Westeros has always been.
instead, most of what happens is a bit naive and uninspired, to say the least... they sent a few ships with food and this was enough to start a riot ? One could claim that this is not realistic and even if it was it should be set-up correctly... it should have been developed more...
the episode did not go any deeper into the lives of the protagonists... it did not follow anyone a bit closer or dug a little deeper... remember Tyrion Lanister, how he was always drunk, looked down on, always in brothels and taverns, meeting new people and getting into situations or adventures which he resolved his own way? Well, this character was phenomenal... the characters in S02 are shallow and uninspiring, taking up space than giving flavor to the outcome...
given the above one has to consider that GOT hadn't revealed its quality before the end of S01. But the expectations are high for House of the Dragon.
¿Sabías que…?
- TriviaThe Targaryen sigils in this episode show the correct two-legged dragon for both the Blacks and the Greens, rather than the previously incorrect four-legged version noted by George R.R. Martin.

Prince Daemon Targaryen: She never even wanted it. The crown. She spared it no thought.
Alys Rivers: Well, that's perhaps why your brother gave the crown to her. Perhaps those who strive for it are the least suited to wear it.
Prince Daemon Targaryen: Don't lecture me!
[pause]
Alys Rivers: Viserys never wanted it himself, if you recall. It came to him, and he did his best. It's not a prize to be won, but a burden to bear.
