Komekko discovers a furry four-legged dinner that Megumin ends up adopting, before the Red Prison conducts a questionable educational exercise.

Megumin has become acquainted with Father Zesta of the Axis Sect, just in time for him to be arrested thanks to a letter delivered by Yunyun. Can the two Crimson Demons repay his hospitality by proving his innocence?

On their way to Axel, Megumin and Yunyun's carriage group get attacked several times by monsters. Suspecting something suspicious is afoot, they encounter an enemy who has been following them.

After arriving in Axel Megumin and Yunyun try to find new party members. This however proves to be challenge as Megumin is too specific for most parties and Yunyun fails to garner a decent crowd. Megumin then comes with an odd solution.

While completing a quest in the forests surrounding Axel, Megumin and Yunyun come across a powerful Greater Demon called Hoost. The situation seems dire as the raid parties fail to bring him down but there is a ray of hope present in town.

Megumin decides to decline Host's offer as she has grown attached to Chomosuke and plans to ambush and defeat him instead. Megumin asks Yunyun to procure some magic items in preparations to take on the high ranking demon. While Megumin is anxiously trying to sleep however, Yunyun comes into her room to take matters into her own hands.
