Wow. I don't even have the words to describe this episode. Nothing turned down as I would've expected it to be. This series has definitely turned into one of my favorites of all time, especially this season. Everything's been boiling down to this moment and it did not disappoint at all. In fact, it's one of the most satisfying payoffs I've ever experienced.
I'm not a fan of writing reviews, but I felt the urge to write something about this episode, as it goes down to one of the best I've ever seen in my entire life. Thorfinn and Einar came to me as some of the best characters I've ever seen, especially the bond and brotherhood they've formed.
I have not read the manga and don't intend to, but I hope the next seasons bring more of this peaceful Thorfinn we've seen thus far. That being said, I highly recommend everyone to watch the series just so you can experience the journey that leads to this beautiful masterpiece.

This felt like the epic culmination of one of the best character arcs you can ask for! Despite there being one episode left, there was a sense of finallity to it!
This was an emotional and overwhelming experience that remains as one of the best episodes of the series and proves a masterpiece dont need violence! The themes of war and violence was ongoing this season and this episode wraps it all up in spectacular fashion!
This is not about finding a reson to live! This is about just living, driven by peace.. not war or violence! This is about a man who found his place in this world and escaped the hatred that drove him for all those years!
Thorfinn has reached legendary status after this episode! Truely an icon! The character work is astronomical! Soundtrack and animation were great as well!

In this episode we see Thorfinn and Canute having an important discussions about Ketils farmland, taking a step towards peace.
The episode focuses on the characters growth, with Thorfinn and Canute maturing throughout the series.
While in the same time highlighting the importance of talking and finding common ground.
As always, Visually impressive, with great animation and attention to detail, the episode maintains the show's high standards. The voice acting and background music add to the emotional impact. And to me is one of the best background music in all animes.
Overall, this episode is a turning point in the series. Sad thing about it that next week episode will be the last of this season and we'll probably have to wait another year or two to see the new Arc!

WHAT. AN. EPISODE. WHAT. A SHOW.
We have just witnessed the end of the first chapter of Vinland saga. This episode may not be the last in its season, but it concludes the farming arc of Vinland as we move on in the story. And boy was this a perfect episode.
This episode focuses on Thorfinn and how he changes people. We see so many characters have development all come together, and it leaves us so satisfied to see the likes of Gardar and Snake and Throfinn himself find closure in this story plotline. We see that Thorfinn has already atoned for much of his sins in this episode, and the promise he has made is what founds the rest of the show.
MAPPA were not holding back here - artstyle was stepped up to top level. The eyes on the characters, the facial definition, the music and, most prominently, the SKY and colours were amazing. I have never see such a visually beautiful and artistic episode of anime.
I think this episode emphasizes how love and peace, not war, can change a man for the better. And that is a truth. A fact and something we all can agree on.

I will admit- I had my reservations about the second season of Vinland once i heard little details here and there about what the second season could look like, and how it would contrast to the first season. As soon as I heard about "Farmland" arc, I winced just a bit. Even after the first season, I personally believed Vinland Saga to be amongst the very best currently airing anime, and potentially one of the best seasons of not just Anime, but tv in general- that I've ever seen. I partly fell in love with it because of its historical parallels to real life events but also the action sequences and depiction of intense conflicts on the battle fields of the both the war and political realm of that time period. HOW IS A SEASON DEDICATED TO RAISING CROPS and milking cows GOING TO TOP THAT??
I have to say after the first few episodes- albeit It still was top of the line quality production and writing, I was still uncertain if itd achieve the same quality that s1 did. However, not only did it end up doing just that, but what I find even more impressive are the aspects it exponentially improved in (yes, albeit at the trade off of action)- and most of it stems from DEEP character development, and the teams ability to translate these complex and compelling characters onto the big screen, matched with unmitigated raw humanized emotion and intensity. All done at a level that only a handful of other TV SERIES are capable of doing!
I think beyond Anime, tv and film professionals from all sorts of different markets can take many pages out of Vinlands execution process. Because this show thus far has been nothing short of exceptional. Vinland's team don't underestimate the intelligence of the audience, they trust our ability to be patient, our ability to be reflective and inquisitive about the way some of the ways our world came about, and our ability to be invested in real PEOPLE conflicts that stretch beyond a battle field. And they have the secret ingredients to creating a captivating, mesmerizing spectacle of a story- which sometimes aren't so secret and are more simpler than one may think.
Top 5 anime of all time for me as of now. Onto s3!

Narrator: Engrave it. Engrave it into your flesh. Engrave it into the land. Engrave it into the sea. Engrave it into your spoils. Engrave it into your enemies. Engrave it. Engrave it. Engrave what you feel into me. Engrave that encounter into me.
