As a manga reader, this was a really great episode. It's safe to say Vinland Saga isn't underrated anymore and I'm glad it's getting the attention it truly deserved with the "I have no enemies" quote. My only criticism was that Mappa cut out 2 scenes from the manga if I'm recalling it correctly. And that's not even what i consider as a complaint, i guess it's more nitpicking. Many fans dropped Season 2 because there was barely any action. They'll regret it because Vinland Saga teaches people lessons far greater than many pieces of fiction. They even did a really brilliant ending scene by showing us important character's pasts and what's to come for the future. Makoto Yukimura, you GOAT.
The final episode, titled "Home", is the perfect closing chapter to a season defined not by war, but by its aftermath. After a long journey through pain, slavery, forgiveness, and self-discovery, Thorfinn finally sets his eyes on the horizon-literally and metaphorically-as he begins his next great quest: building a land of peace.
The episode is quiet, reflective, and deeply emotional. There are no battles, no major confrontations-just characters reckoning with where they've been and where they're going. Thorfinn's return to Iceland is understated but powerful. Seeing him embrace his mother and reconnect with his homeland brings a sense of full-circle closure that Season 1's ending never could have offered. It's not about fanfare, it's about coming home changed.
The dialogue between Thorfinn and Leif Erikson stands out as one of the episode's highlights. Leif's unwavering support and fatherly pride in Thorfinn underscores how much the boy who once lived for revenge has matured into a man who now lives for others. When Thorfinn speaks of creating a place "without slaves, without war," you believe it-not because he's strong, but because he's endured.
Einar's presence is just as important. Now not just a companion, but a partner in Thorfinn's dream, his choice to join Thorfinn shows how deeply their shared suffering and hope have bound them. Their departure together toward Vinland feels less like a hopeful adventure and more like a solemn promise to the people they've lost.
Visually, the final scenes are breathtaking. The vast, open ocean captures the spirit of possibility that defines the end of this season. The final shot-a ship sailing west-isn't just a journey toward new land; it's a journey toward a better world.
Episode is a meditative, moving finale that completes Thorfinn's arc with grace and emotional depth. Where Season 1 ended in anger and death, Season 2 ends in hope and renewal. It's not just the end of a chapter-it's the beginning of something greater.

I liked this season even more than the previous one. I strongly support the author's worldview and I hope more people will see and understand the meaning of this work.
From an impulsive child to an adult sensible man. Thorfinn went through a difficult path of understanding and accepting his mistakes. I'm looking forward to the third season.
The finale itself is very emotional. Unlike the first season's final episode, this one doesn't end with some epic bang, but rather gives us a solid peaceful closure to one of the series' most important storylines. I love how the two seasons conclude in completely different ways, but both of them still do it masterfully!

I loved this season and did not expect the final episode to be so contrastingly different from the rest of the arc. However, this huge change of tone works really well and provides a satisfying conclusion for this part of the story.
After enduring so much, it's just so pleasant to see Thorfinn in such a lighthearted environment, showcasing that the cruel world of Vinland Saga does not exclusively consist of violence and misery. There are still places with good people who live simple happy lives, which gives us a shred of hope that it is still possible for a man like Thorfinn to give up violence and establish a place with no wars and hate, somewhere far away.
