I'll admit that I stayed away from this movie because the reviews were not complimentary. I thought it must have been a terrible remake of the original that tried way too hard and failed. Oh boy, was I wrong!

I normally don't love gore for gore's sake but every kill was new, brilliantly executed (yes, pun intended) and funny. Sometimes horror comedy doesn't strike the right tone but I loved this take. That death is so ridiculous it's comedic. It's so awful it's hysterical. The chops that Osgood Perkins wore as Uncle Chip freaking killed me.

Character development was perfect, acting was masterful and effects were incredible. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun watching a movie.
