This movie is for the horror fans. The people who want an interestingly dark story that makes you think "what if?...like what the heck?" It is for the ones who aren't watching for the actors or the studio backing the film.

It's for the fans who want an original and interesting story told with a baseline they not only can work with but vehemently demand that their creative side runs wild with ideas of WTF WHAT IF?

If you have to be spoonfed every little nuance and detail, all you will do is complain...you will walk away missing out on the rabbit hole this story sends the rest of us down... A lil imagination and a desire for the twisted and this movie will give you all you need in an hour and a half for a weekend full of self terrorizing on thoughts of a hypothetical werewolf apocalypse.

As a fellow werewolf enthusiast, I was intrigued by the premise of Byte (2024), which offers a modern twist on lycanthropy through a mysterious app. The concept is innovative, blending technology with classic horror elements, and it sets the stage for a potentially engaging narrative.

However, the film's execution leaves much to be desired. The pacing is uneven, with significant lulls that detract from the overall tension. Character development is minimal, making it challenging to connect with the protagonists on a deeper level. The dialogue often feels stilted, and some plot points lack coherence, leading to a disjointed viewing experience.

On a positive note, the practical effects, particularly the werewolf design, are commendable for an independent production. A modern twist on classic werewolves with the charm and entertainment of 80s favorites. The modern spin makes BYTE an interesting watch, but, even with the modernity, the vibe of it all is soooo 80s. The werewolves look incredible for what the budget was. The gore is a bit cheesy and a tad unimaginative but that doesn't take away from the rest of the movie for me. The acting fell a little flat and there were some audio issues. At times, those factors took me out of the movie a bit. But never for long! An entertaining and fun watch. I'd absolutely recommend this movie to fellow horror enjoyers.

I feel bad giving something less than three stars, but I couldn't justify giving it a full three. The premise had a lot of potential. While the 'killer app' concept in a horror movie has been done before, the werewolf twist added a unique touch. Unfortunately, the acting was a major letdown-it felt pretty cringeworthy at times. That said, I'm a sucker for fun teen horror, so I did find some enjoyment in it.

I also want to mention that I don't mind the amateur makeup and special effects. As a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, I'm used to a bit of silliness in costumes. That said, it is 2024, so I can't help but wonder about the budget.

I watched this last night i like the idea and the concept of this movie but the dialogue and acting was terrible .The only good bits were the actual Werewolfs and the Werewolf kills they looked pretty good but the main characters none of them were likable in my books plus they were all pretty annoying and unbelieveble. But i did like the overall idea and story to me that was pretty original .I think if they had overhauled or reviewed and improved the script plus get better actors or people that could actually act this would have been a really good movie. Coming from the Uncorked film studios i kind of expected a bit more.
