I'm on episode 2 and I'm I disbelief. Mainly at the excellent reviews. I'm not criticising the storyline as I'm only part way through but the acting... holy ****. It's beyond bad. I'm embarrassed sitting watching it. Matthew Goode isn't realistic and it's unrealistic the way he complains all the time. It's also unrealistic the way everyone is always sniping at each other. The worst thing though, hands down are the Scottish accents. So unrealistic. They can't even swear well. We're a nation of great swearers but even the swearing in this is amateur! I hate to say it but Kate Dickie, who I thought was great in Game of Thrones and Red Road is plain embarrassing in this. Alexej Manvelov, IMO is best with Shirley Henderson doing a decent job too. I don't know how people can rate this a 9 or 10. Shame. UPDATE. I've changed my review to a 7 from a 5. The acting by some was still awful, however, the story and the entertainment value left me feeling entertained.
