Waiting six long years for Rick Grimes' return has been anything but a waste of time. Andrew Lincoln's performance in the main series, the the emotional highs and lows, is beautifully dispersed throughout the episode. Originally planned as a trilogy movie, the story has been masterfully adapted into a six-part mini-series, managing to maintain the perfect balance of quality and pacing. The editing seamlessly weaves the narrative without overwhelming the viewer, offering just the right amount of scene transitions. Having rewatched this episode eight times, I'm astounded by the meticulous attention to detail in the script-every word counts. The production team at AMC, along with the cast involved in the direction, truly gifted fans with a long-awaited return of Rick Grimes, making the six-year wait feel like a tribute to our patience. The anticipation for the remaining five episodes is sky-high.
Rick Grimes returns in both a fascinating and shocking fashion, par for the course for his character.
Despite the fact that the viewers have been familiar with Rick Grimes for years, the show still manages to tell us new things about him and develop his character.
Despite this being only one single episode, this show's pilot is better than any other TWD spin-offs' episode and arguably the pilot of the main show.
All-in-all, relentless action scenes, incredible performances all across the board, lore establishment, fast-paced plot and outstanding character development make this new TWD spin-off well worth the wait.

One thing I'll say about the more recent walking dead series is that they are more vibrant visually. There's more color but it still doesn't take away from the gloomy reality of this zombie dystopia. One of my biggest concerns about this new show is the tendency of TWD and its spinoffs to rinse and repeat storylines, even if they start off as something new and fresh. Like I was so excited for the Daryl Dixon spinoff and after a couple episodes it became just another typical TWD show. I feel a little better in that regard because the series is only gonna be 3 episodes long. And despite it being that short, it still taking time to unravel the story slowly. I think the makers have the luxury of doing so because the audience is already acclimated with the leads so they don't have to build up as many character connections; We already know why they wanna find each other. Oh never mind I just found out it's 6 episodes long on google, IMDb is only showing three.
Hesitate to judge a show based on one episode but so far it's decent. Nothing crazy, nothing epic, I wasn't at the edge of my seat but I enjoyed it. Despite introducing a whole new city and government and army(again), the show feels grounded and calm. Not rushing to just some new big battle. Like the latter of the parent tv series, it seems like this series is going to be more about human affairs than actual walkers. The walkers are simply plot points. I'm not super pumped for this series, I've seen all the twd shows and spinoffs apart from world beyond;so it's hard to get super hyped, but I am looking forward to this and hoping it'll be good.

This was honestly surprising on how good this pilot was. The 6 years wait was very very worth it for this moment. It takes it's time to get it going but there was never a dull moment. I love how this first episode was entirely on Rick's perspective and the second one focuses on Michonne. This pilot is very promising and I hope it continues to impress me and is consistent with it's writing.
Andrew Lincoln puts on an amazing performance along with his co-actor who played Okafor. It's insane how this man doesn't have more roles in his filmography. The pacing of this episode was really good and I love the route they're going with Rick. His struggles and decisions coming up to him and eating him inside. I really don't have anything more to say but this was really really good. This was the first time in years I have been this excited for a tv show.

The Ones Who Live exceeded my expectations.
After half a decade, Andrew Lincoln is finally the main protagonist of TWD again.
His performance was absolutely sensational, he is a brilliant underrated actor.
The cinematography was beautiful, it didn't even feel like I was watching something apart of The Walking Dead Universe.
The dialogue and the story is done so well, making this episode EASILY the best premiere of TWD.
Almost granted me tears to my eyes watching this masterpiece of a return.
The Walking Dead is nothing without Rick, but he's finally back, and better than ever!
I can't wait for the rest of this series, thank you Andrew Lincoln for a breathtaking performance.

- TriviaThe root cause for the fall of Omaha was illustrated in the second season premiere of The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020), entitled "Konsekans (2021)". The plan was initiated by Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Kublek (Julia Ormond) of the Civil Republic Military.
- ErroresAt least one of the iPhones Rick is seen with is at the earliest an iPhone 6, when they introduced rocker buttons for volume instead of the + and - buttons. iPhone 6 was introduced in 2014, four years after the zombie apocalypse started.
