Picture Me Dead

I was excited, I've been seeing Erica in a lot of Tubi films and Tubi has some gems but this one in particular they could've made this movie a hit but the director needed to be switched out bc the skill was not there the element of surprise was not there the actors seems forced everything was over dramatic. I wish they'd redo it because it wasn't even low budget it would've been good had they had some better direction. The script should've corresponded more with the element and plot. It's like one of those movies where the person probably had a vision but wasn't able to capture it properly. The storyline was good but overall the movie just got annoying to watch.

Erica Mena is going to have to be rescued from this bad directing or else. The woman has some serious dramatic potential. When those ears of hers are covered and that hair frames her face properly, she is dangerously beautiful to look at. And yes, in many flashes, one can see that she can act. A little. But the producing and the directing just can't pull it out and sustain it. If this same cast, this same story, had been done by a production crew like the one that has kept Law and Order SVU on the air for 20 years, we'd be having a different conversation about Erica Mena's career. This might be her last chance, but I hope not because the woman is sexy as Hell.

I don't know what to say except picture me disappointed. To an extent I loved the story line. Erica's acting was so terrible I had to ask a third party whether I was making a biased conclusion. Her stance, facial expression, voice, and posture are just off. I know she is famous but couldn't the director give the role to a deserving actress. Each scene with her is a knife to my love of movies. Sadly I was just 20 mins in and I decided to write a review and prepare everyone for the botched acting portrayed. I feel like the decision to cast Erica ruined all efforts put into the film. On a positive note most of the actors were great especially the girl very beautiful and fluent in acting. Anyway I hope Tubi does not cast Erica in another film, maybe smaller roles or reality shows.

I love Tubi. Its become my favorite app for movies and shows. They carry Southland, Kubric movies & so many random independent movies that are great. I decided to give the movies they're producing a try. Made some popcorn, sat on the couch and put on Picture Me Dead. Well picture me disappointed. The story is promising and the cast is beautiful, but this is where it ends. Erica Mena is painfully terrible as an actress as well as her sister, the sisters husband & a few others. How did the director not stop filming? If you still want to see it just put it on and clean the house so all you have to do is hear it. Ill try another Tubi production cuz its a great app but this one is a dud.

And another one added to the Chris Stokes Universe. Idk why I keep getting trapped. Maybe because regardless, I grew up loving the productions of his Universe...I was a little too young for the Marques Houston and group era (can't even think of the groups name...smh because I loved seeing them perform on Sister Sister) but B2K ....yes yes yes. Through the drama, I still stayed and am still here, ha.

So, I give this a 3 because I respect that they (Chris and Marques) are still working, still hanging tight and getting to the bag. However, watching Erica Mena, I wonder if she's serious when she's acting or if it's a joke for her. She is TERRIBLE. It's like confirmation that Love and Hip Hop was scripted because I feel as if I'm watching the same Erica from the show just in the CSverse. I don't think I can take it anymore. I suffered through the Stepmoms but couldn't even finish the third because while she was bad in the first two, they were still ingestible (maybe not digestible but it got in there). The third one I couldn't even swallow - I'm sure you get the reference. Then I suffered through that plane movie with the dad and daughter. But the third stepmom I mean, were they serious? That's a real question. I made it through this movie but often found myself cracking up at Erica's acting. Rounding her mouth when she yelled, sounding like she's reading right from the script, those terrible facial expressions. I have to say I respect her getting to her bag too but child, maybe find another avenue because acting just ain't it.
