Escuadrón Suicida Isekai

Coming from someone who enjoys James Gunn's Suicide Squad and watches a lot of anime, let me say it doesn't do either well. It was like watching a Saturday morning cartoon with animation only passable for children. The fight scenes were clunky and uninspired. The story was rushed and frankly uninteresting. And the characters were widdled-down versions of their DC selves. Was it terrible? No. God knows I've seen worse shows. But it was grotesquely mid. I relate it to Nickelback who tried to mix hard rock and country and couldn't really do either. So yeah, this show is for children and Nickelback fans. You decide which one you are.

Highly recommend for any Suicide Squad / Peacemaker / Harley Quinn fans

I'm shocked DC opted for such good animation considering their style(s) prior! This storyline looks promising and really opens up the door to getting to know the characters personalities. It wouldn't be worth a damn without some really decent fight scenes and dashes of humor peppered throughout.

The characters are all enhanced and their powers are stronger, even non metas, due to being in another world so I can't wait to see where they take this. If the anime style isn't your get down I would still recommend trying out the first 2 episodes and decide from there bc I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how enjoyable it is.

The only good thing about this anime is the drawing (not the animation).

I hope you learn something from this review because I sure did. My vocabulary expanded greatly thanks to this anime and I'll be able to describe other similar shows better in the future.

It was enjoyable. I laughed several times. If you go in thinking it will be like the movie or the comic, you will be disappointed.

I really like the character redesigns. Clayface is just great in this version. I really like what they did with the Joker. Music is good. All and all a bit ridiculous at times and little strange, but it's fun. I'm sure not everyone is going to like it. It is more Anime, than DC.

The only major downside is that they didn't dub everything being said or bother to put up subtitles when they didn't. At some point they just stopped dubbing it entirely. I don't know if they are still adding them but after about 8 episodes, be prepared to read subtitles.

Fun show that knows about everything isekai and uses the tropes perfectly. The show strikes a great balance of fights and comedy for me.

As a lover of anime and DC cartoons this was the perfect combination for me and I was not dissapointed.

Only critique I have is that DC should stop relying so heavily on Harley Quinn. She is a fun/amazing character but it's getting kind of tired. That said, she fits perfectly here and I wish she got to use more of the worlds magic for silly things. I do wish however we got more screentime for world building. An establishment of the rules of the new world is a part I enjoy about isekai.

I'd definitely recommend this show, even if you dont enjoy anime and are just a regular DC fan there will still be enough to enjoy in this show.
