Mr. President

For me, this was my favorite episode. I love seeing the dynamic relationship between the main cast and their new clients. President Jimble is unique and incredibly funny. Love the quotable lines in this whole episode. Even though you don't get to see Pim and Charlie as often as a normal episode, I think the show does well to highlight the new supporting casts. I love the blending of the art styles and the real recording of President Jimble. The subtle interaction between him and the animated environment gives great detail and is incredibly fun to see. The episode is well paced and incredibly relevant for our current day politics. Great rewatch value.

When i first watched the preview of this episode I felt that Charlie's 'peons' joke felt very forced. It felt like zach saying a joke instead of it being something Charlie said, I dismissed this though as a small miss. I had a similar feeling with the whole 'i don't get involved with politics' *boss comes in* 'guess who just got a call from the president' joke, but once again dismissed the forced nature of it as a critique of that cliché. But throughout the rest of the episode i kept noticing this forced feeling, specifically with charlie/zachs lines. Zach is usually an incredible writer and voice actor so the nature of his lines makes me somewhat doubt he wrote them.

This episode also suffered immensely from the 10 minute run time, and felt so fast paced I got a headache.

Other than that I don't think it was awful. A standout part for me being Pims ark. But it was definitely the weakest episode so far, and when I inevitably rewatch the series for the 100th time I will probably skip over it.

I think a lot of the bad reviews are from people who saw the parallels of the political satire and their own political beliefs.

This episode was 100% about the current administration and its incompetence.

A lot of stubborn people who may have voted for it may have a difficult time watching this episode.

It could cause one to reflect on their bad decisions with voting. They don't want to feel personally attacked while watching a show they love, and certainly wouldn't give an inch on their political beliefs possibly being wrong, so instead, it must be that the episode is bad, right? ... Right!?

Most adult cartoons that take a shot at politics usually either make fun of or lean towards one of the political parties in the U. S. Smiling friends does a great job keeping the politics out of a political episode. The episode didn't have me dying laughing the entire time but it did its job. There were a few funny moments and the episode overall was rock solid for smiling friends standard. I expect a lot of big things from the show this season and hope to see more of Mr. Frog and Mr. Boss. Overall, this wasn't one of my favorites, but it was worth the wait. Can't wait to tune in next week for another episode!
