This episode is so fun to watch, its weird but really funny, the beginning got me, I really thought they were gonna do that for real if you watched the episode you know what I'm talking about, but it was a fake out, he wasn't the real client, The boss and Allan have a few lines and it's all gold, Charlie however is the one that is the most funny one, his speech at the end gets me, it's so unexpected and so real, feels like the most adequate reaction anyone could have in that situation, Pim doesn't have a lot of good moments in the episode, but overall I really liked this episode, something I admire about this show is that, there is no bad episode yet, so consistent, the worst this show can get is still fun and engaging, the Mr President episode I think is the lowest this show stepped and is still not even near bad.
This all new episode of hit series, Smiling Friends, made me happy. This episode made me put all my sadness aside so I could enjoy my life again. This episode was better than I expected, and I expected it to be a 10/10 episode, once again. This episode's plot was absolutely perfect, it's goofy, and it brought me out of a deep state of depression. Then, I became a smiling friend and smiled the heck out of my friends! I couldn't believe how spectacular this episode was! This episode obviously deserves a 12/10, but I can only give it a 10... watch this episode if you have the chance. Best episode yet tbh.
I started watching smiling friends back in 2022 and this episode is as weird as it gets but everything fits so well with the 11 minute timeframe each episode has, i'm truly impressed by how much time went into making this show this episode has a couple of jokes that I chuckled at. This episode feels like A fever dream from the beginning to the end I love how the characters talking like they're talking to one another realistically, like one to one, also like that The animation for some episodes are different like each character has their own unique animation. I actually like this very much I give this a 9 out of 10 because of it's crazy weird story and because it's not afraid of just making people laugh.
Brother's egg starts strong and stays there for the entire 11 minute run time. Featuring popular YouTuber Joel Haver, Smiling Friends gives him a platform to act and animate in his signature rotoscope style, to great comedic success. Almost every 10 seconds there is a new visual gag or funny line to keep you engaged and entertained, and new characters like The Mad Scientist play off the main cast very well. Realistic, funny, yet awkward scenes make up a majority of this episodes jokes and narrative; to some people, these jokes may not land, but for me personally, I really enjoy the grounded approach to comedy in an often surreal world. Overall, this episode is worth your time and I highly recommend watching it.
Smiling Friends continues to be one of the most original and fearless animated shows on TV. Not only is this ep hilarious and weird in all the best ways, but it also features a surprise collaboration that completely blew my mind: Joel Haver animated and voiced the character Doug, and if you're a fan of Joel's work on YouTube, you'll recognize his signature rotoscoped animation style immediately.
The way Doug moves, speaks, and even argues with Professor Psychotic feels straight out of a Joel Haver short, and it somehow fits perfectly into the chaotic world of Smiling Friends. It's such a brilliant crossover - Joel didn't just voice a character, he brought his whole creative fingerprint to it. And the result is incredible.
On top of that, the episode still delivers everything we love about the show: absurd humor, grotesque visual gags, surreal dialogue, and that oddly touching emotional core underneath all the madness. One moment you're laughing at a failed homunculus experiment, the next you're watching a heartfelt (and still ridiculous) sibling reconciliation - it's amazing how Smiling Friends balances it all.
This show constantly surprises me, and "Brother's Egg" is a perfect example of why it deserves all the love it gets. I hope this isn't the last time we see Joel Haver and Smiling Friends working together - because this was a match made in unhinged animated heaven.
10/10. Egg-cellent.
