Amongst a season as perfect as this one, Charlie, Pim, and Bill vs. The Alien combines everything audiences love about this show and cranks it to 11. Witty dialogue and banter, dynamic stop motion animation, and of course the characters Pim and Charlie. Charlie stands out a lot in this episode, as we get to see his character challenged based on his interactions with "The Alien" which escalates later in the episode (to great comedic effect). Another stand-out quality of this episode is the 20 second drug sequence, which uses experimental animation to convey the trip brilliantly. And to those who haven't watched this episode, it's worth it just for the final joke (it's out of this world). I hope Smiling Friends continues its stride for both its penultimate and final episode.
This show is fun and this episode shows that silly fun the animators had while making this. I liked that it was an episode solely focused on the main duo compared to the other episodes in season 2 which made for a nice respite.
Overall, amazing animation designs, voice acting, jokes and concept. For me this is my top 5 favorite episode easily and I can't wait for what the next episode brings next Sunday.
I finished the episode thinking "this is dumb" with a big smile as I did for much of the first season. I wish more shows and episodes reflect that as the seasons progress and it doens't take itself too seriously.

David Hootselle really knows how to write, and pace a story. I was really blown away, I saw the preview from a year ago and I was so excited and it lived up to it's expectations! His directing meshes really well with Zach and Michael's comedy as well as his animation/boarding skills:) maybe im just glazing idk. From an artistic standpoint, it seems like they bumped it up a notch! The animation was so smooth it was kind of comical at times (Charlie nodding his head, and the theremin scene), the way character expressions were drawn was also very good! The ending kind of reminded me of the Frowning Friends episode, where a small very insignificant detail was mentioned at the start and then it hits you in the face at the end. But even then, this feels like something new in the series.
