Moffat you nailed it!!! Very imaginative, very tense, rather unique.

This is what I was hoping for, genuinely the best episode for some time, it really did feel like Doctor Who, more science fiction, more tension, less magic and fantasy.

I've read quite a lot of scathing reviews and articles about this one, I don't get what they must have been watching, because this served as a reminder of what the show can be like.

This is the first time I really felt This Doctor and Ruby bringing it home together, they really played off one another so well, I felt the bond between them, I felt hsr character developed very well.

Some of the Moffat tropes are there, he really does love a religious army, think back to a good man goes to war, and he does love a reset button, it was interesting to see if he used the latter here.

This episode was INCREDIBLE. WHAT THE HECK MOFFAT!? I had such high expectations since Moffat is my favorite writer show runner and I was not disappointed. Not in the slightest. This was my favorite Doctor Who episode in at least 7 years. The acting, the writing, the costumes, and music, the story, the conclusion. Absolutely phenomenal. This has gotten me so excited for the rest of the season and the seasons to come! I really hope there's much more Moffat written episodes and l'd love to see other guest writers too. Gosh, restored my faith in the show 💜💜💜 THIS is Doctor Who! This is pure Who. Highly recommend.

It's been years since Moffat left Doctor Who and yet he still got it. Doctor and Ruby have a great dialogue and Doctor isn't overly whimsical like in the past episodes. Here we see his emotions and fears and here he feels the most like The Doctor. Episode has a lot of suspense which is something that previous episodes lacked. I also like how dark it is in tone, but that's expected considering that the last Moffat season got pretty dark. Anyway overall I really liked this episode and I hope the rest od the episodes will be like this too. I'll give it a ten for motivation and that's everything I've got to say.

Moffat does what us fans of the Tennant and Smith classics have been waiting for: a story that keeps you on the edge of your seats. Forget the negative reviews and judge for yourself. I haven't had a good moment like this with a Doctor Who episode for quite a long time: the right amount of human emotion and just the right amount of tension and suspense

The beauty of Doctor Who is that the episodic nature of the series allows for a whole spectrum of stories, styles, and direction. The rebooted / refreshed "Season One" was arguably on shaky ground, a metaphorical landmine. Steven Moffat has arrived at just the right time to help, ably assisted by solid direction from Julie Anne Robinson (a definite improvement from her contribution in Space Babies).

As you'd expect from Moffat, this is a darker tale than the previous instalments in this season. It's a masterclass in tension. Gatwa is phenomenal here, matching the gripping script with a standout performance.

It may not hit the heights of Blink but Boom delivers a big bang in terms of an impression, not a whimper.
