Its concept alone hooked me : a impersonator gets hired to become the voice of a writer seeking tranquility to finish his book, taking over his phone calls.

What's remarkable is how the film balances its absurd setup with genuine depth. Instead of leaning into broad farce, it unfolds with restraint, letting the odd-couple chemistry between Salif Cissé and Denis Podalydès simmer. The movie subtly explores identity, art, the masks we wear and how we seek recognition.

LE REPONDEUR deserves a big audience and its golden concept could lead to international remakes. BUT DON'T MISS THIS ONE !
