It has been a while since we saw such a delightful family comedy miniseries. This brave show does not hesitate to delve into the reality of modern families in the Islamic world, especially in the often misunderstood Saudi culture. Ultimately people are no different all over the world, parents and kids struggle to connect, partners try to make marriages work, people in general try to overcome their biases, divorce tears families apart and siblings struggle to find equilibrium in their domination game.
The show gives a nice glimpse of society in modern Saudia Arabia and de-mystifies many misconceptions. Many life lessons I have encountered are illustrated here, with plenty of warnings. Crashing Eid is a refreshing change from saccharine artificial dramas and bravely exposes the raw reality of emotional and family challenges.

This mini series has everything, realistic characters, serious issues, humour and it will be very relatable for anyone from an Arabic or wider Asian culture. Is it a representative of all Saudi people, no of course not, but that it doesn't aim to be. It aims to be funny whilst presenting topics that are relevant. And it does it perfectly.
When thinking about cinema and series, few titles bring high production very as well as an international touch. This series nailed both of these thing, while being very funny. The performances are insanely convincing and my only criticism is that one more episode would probably been great! Hope to see more series like this on Netflix. Only saw it coz it was recommended during my stay in Saudi Arabia and will definitely recommend it to my friends both in and outside of the cultures in the series.

For sometime after watching numerous Arabic shows on Netflix, specifically from Egypt. I ever so wonder if a show would centre around a Pakistani crossing paths with an Arab? We've seen plenty of stories of them with white or Indian, so maybe this would be a nice change and my wish came true finally.
This show never disappoints me, it has comedy, good story progression and moral values like accepting one who is off a different race, culture, country and marriage status. Definitely my new fave Arabic show as a Pakistani myself 😂
8.5/10 - sweet and short, wish there was a second season for it.
