Mixmups

Finally! A children's program gorgeously representing our diverse dudes in a captivating and exciting way. The show is groundbreaking in its storytelling; having main characters with different abilities swashbuckle their way through adventures. The themes in the programs are universal and attractive to all children and the characters differences can be incidental or integral to the action. Beautifully crafted programs have a familiar feel with nostalgic nods to many beloved childhood programs.

Each bitesize episode offers fun and adventure whilst tackling tricky big emotions for little people. As a mum of a neuro diverse child it's great to see a children's tv programme representing all abilities. I have also used the series in my profession as an Early Years teacher as a way of starting a topic and highlighting the importance of inclusion and equity. These can be tricky concepts for young children but having Mixmups in the classroom has been a real gift in helping little people take big ideas on board. Thank you team Mixmups!!

I love this kids program! It's fun, and bright without being over the top manic (Giggle and Hoot :'( ) And I absolutely love the disability representation, that also shows the creativity that frankly is essential when you live a disabled life - it's rarely shown and yet we have to develop it because it's the only way to survive an inaccessible world.

I wish something like this had been available when my kids were little, especially as 2 of them have ended up being wheel-chair users. I really hope that they make another series. It is also so important for kids to see themselves in what they're watching. Including disability in television shows from an early age is an important step in both increasing understand and acceptance of disability and also increasing accessibility to the real world.

Essential viewing for kids and soothing for adults too! This is a truly positive show in which the characters pursue heartwarming adventures and just happen to have various odd bods and individualisms. The underlying message that you are just fine as you are, whether you use a wheelchair or need help to see or not, has profound implications. It demonstrates that no one is 'less than' and the environment can be adapted so that everyone is valued. I felt tearful watching it. This exists outside of the usual cliches, it is a fresh approach that supports the self esteem of any child and role models what a positive inclusive attitude really looks like. Wonderful.

My child really enjoys this show, it is energetic and colourful with a good pace and storytelling. The characters are cute and they love the little Guinea pig alongside the other characters. The messaging is great and more inclusive than the majority of children's shows.

The stories capture their imagination with magic, music and also having relatable characters. The scripting is good for preschoolers, being not too complex but putting across interesting ideas in a fun and clear way. Even my school age child will stop and watch with their younger sibling, so it has a pretty broad appeal. Great show!

This is a great programme for preschoolers, my daughter is a huge fan and I love how it represents disability incidentally. The set up where ideas get introduced and repeat is really good for language development and learning. Also great for learning about new ideas and problem solving. She loves the animals characters and all the different dress ups she likes pretending to have a sky cane and making double decker cheese sandwiches. My older son also enjoys it especially the box folding and unfolding, I think because the story telling is so good he gets on with it even though it's a bit too old for him.
